My blog is called Crushing Krisis because I crush-on or am-crushed-by anything and everything, and because my longtime internet handle is “krisis.”
I started CK because I was tired of writing for other websites where I didn’t have input into the layout and editorial policies. It began as a place to store all of my writing – thoughts, weblinks, lists, and lyrics. Over time it has evolved to become a more standard blog, but it still features an eclectic mix of both personal and popular topics. Many of my posts draw from my experiences as a local Philadelphia songwriter.
CK was originally published via Blogger, and for most of that time it ran on a specialized back-end of hand-coded PHP based on code from Tom of quantum slip. I was a fervent supporter of Blogger for many years, but I no longer feel that it is the best content management system (CMS) for a savvy, active blogger.
The current incarnation of CK went live on November 12, 2006. It runs on a self-installation of WordPress. If you’re interested, you can read more details about my WordPress installation and customization.
There’s a lot of CK here to read! In case you aren’t sure where to start, I have tagged my favorite posts from each year:
Since those posts are just my favorites, I welcome your suggested additions.
