As one of the organizers of the poll, I work closely with Tigereyes and a team of Mapping Minties to be sure Marvel’s entire publishing history has been mapped, with every issue fitting somewhere into an omnibus volume to fill your oversize Marvel shelf. Then, we’ll kick off the poll on Near Mint Condition on March 22, 2026.
Marvel is releasing a lot of X-Men omnibus material in 2026, and it is heavily focused on Krakoa. Of 10 flagship X-Men titles, four of them are from Krakoa across two different collection lines. We have the two books from the Anthology line with X-Men: Age of Krakoa – Dawn of X Vol. 2 and X-Men: Age of Krakoa – Reign of X Omnibus Vol. 1. And, we have two books from the creator/title line with Way of X [AKA Nightcrawler by Simon Spurrier] and X-Men: Age of Krakoa by Kieron Gillen!
Will Marvel keep up this astonishing pace of four Krakoa omnis a year in 2027!?

To be very clear, this post only deals with books with “X-Men” in the title – and only through the period directly prior to Krakoa! Stories from Krakoa and onward will continue in a post tomorrow. Other X-Teams will be in one of my upcoming posts.

We have a wealth of flagship X-Men omnibuses in 2026, but only two books from this 18 year period of comics… and one of them is a wish that turned into a curled monkey’s paw! We’re getting Uncanny X-Men by Kieron Gillen (although it’s one volume without Generation Hope (2010) rather than two) and X-Men: The Messiah Trilogy (which is likely going to be double dipped by four different future omnibuses).
That means we still have a lot of ground to cover when it comes to getting X-Men flagships fully collected from the start of Grant Morrison’s New X-Men (2001) through the finale of X-Men (2018) prior to House of X / Powers of X (2019).

Marvel only released one X-Men omnibus with pre-2000 material in 2025, but in 2026 we’re on a hot streak of classic material. We’re getting X-Men: Road To Onslaught Vol. 2 next week; X-Men: The Trial of Gambit in May to continue our post-Onslaught coverage; X-Men: Blue & Gold – Bloodties [AKA Vol. 3] in August after multiple sell-outs of the first Blue & Gold book; and the hotly-anticipated classic omnibus of Uncanny X-Men Vol. 6 is due in October.
Plus, there’s post-2000 material coming in omnibus as well – Uncanny X-Men by Kieron Gillen, X-Men: The Messiah Trilogy, X-Men: Age of Krakoa – Dawn of X Vol. 2, X-Men: Age of Krakoa – Reign of X Omnibus Vol. 1, Way Of X [AKA Nightcrawler by Simon Spurrier], and X-Men: Age of Krakoa by Kieron Gillen!
That means fully 15% of all Marvel omnibuses out in 2026 are X-Men flagship omnibuses! And that doesn’t even take into account other X-Teams or solo heroes.
Where does that leave us when it comes to pre-2000 coverage of flagship books? Many of the books people will be voting for on this poll will be recollecting issues already in another oversize format, but in an improved reading order. In terms of original, never-before-oversize collections of pre-2000 story material we’re now down to ONLY TWO BOOKS.

Whoa, two weeks in a row? It’s true, Crushers – I’m back with a new X-Men guide for all Patrons of CK! This character’s core collections have been tracked on another longstanding Crushing Comics guide, but I felt like shoe-horning him into another guide did him a disservice. There wasn’t room for all of his guest-appearances, or to discuss the distinct periods of his continuity – from his modern classic introduction to his satisfying end. Plus, per usual, I couldn’t find any other guide who explained things the right way – not even Wikipedia! Thus, I bring you my brand new Guide to Old Man Logan!

It was fine to leave Old Man Logan as a brief footnote in my Guide to Wolverine – Logan when we just had his original Mark Millar story – which was the case for the first five years of my Wolverine Guide!
However, once Brian Bendis delivered Old Man Logan into the present day via Secret Wars (2015), I’ve never loved the idea of his modern adventures being shoved into the main Logan guide. With 13 collected arcs to his name plus equally as many team appearances, it’s been clear to me for several years that Old Man Logan needed a guide of his own – which was emphasized when Marvel spun off several other books featuring the “Wastelanders” of his potential alternate future!
