What i just awoke from was not sleep: it was hibernation. I had been running low on energy all week, but a fitful Wednesday 12-hour night left me refreshed on Thursday morning for class and work. Friday found me a bit sleepy, but still alert enough to contend with all of my classes (something i couldn’t say for myself on Wednesday). After my last class i stopped by Mad Greek’s to get a Chicken Cheesesteak (which very well might become a weekly tradition; last Friday i had a chicken sandwich there with laurel), inhaled it while reading the newspaper, and then headed back here. I made the few posts that you see underneath this one, and then decided to head into the bedroom for a nap. That was 6:30pm
That nap lasted until 8am this morning, when i got up to make sure that my bladder didn’t explode. After using the bathroom, i took a peek into the living room to see that it was exactly as i left it; matt hadn’t come back from the lab. I headed back to the bedroom, considered how much blogging i could get done if i started at 8am, and then laid back down to get another hour or two of sleep.
That hour or two lasted until 1:30pm. I slept for 19 hours straight; longer than most people stay awake on most days. Even more amazing, this means i only spent 10 hours awake yesterday… surely not enough to tire me out that much!
And now? I’m wide awake, and raring to go.
