My tweets of the last week:
- NYC w/ @not_pele & @maryestew to see the @dresdendolls 10th anniversary show! The lights are just dimming… #
- Seriously, this is the opening act you choose for your big anniversary show? Perhaps bring someone who deserves exposure, or who can sing? #
- We are knackered from the @dresdendolls sho, but have decided to order full breakfast from a diner that delivers, because NYC feeds you 24/7 #
- Who knew that this Blogger t-shirt was ever going to become ironic? #
- A long day written on my face. http://twitpic.com/32ve0z #
- It’s November! And National Novel Writing Month! And National Blog Posting Month! I hear some people are growing facial hair. Exciting stuff #
- @frankiethirteen in reply to frankiethirteen #
- @frankiethirteen It was intense & intensely long. Played just about every notable song except Good Day & tons of covers (Pierre! War Pigs!) in reply to frankiethirteen #
- @PurpleCar I’m going to try to do all of it (except the facial hair), but NaNoWriMo is definitely going to be the biggest challenge. in reply to PurpleCar #
- @IONRyan I was just thinking about you and all of our friends from the panel now that barcamp is coming up. Any chance of seeing you there. in reply to IONRyan #
- I think this was the first time I’ve ever stayed the night inside of Manhattan. http://twitpic.com/32ygfs #
- That last quote captures perfectly the reason I write songs – they’re exactly what I want to hear. #
- Awesome: 1st sketch of WW RT @kenlowery: The birth of Wonder Woman. Transcription of the text at Letters of Note http://tumblr.com/xe1o1cglp #
- @inflammatorywrt I was thinking of you approximately the entire time! Next time I come up we will definitely form a plan. in reply to inflammatorywrt #
- 1100 words into my NaNoWriMo project! It’ll take a while to get to the meat of the story, but so far my writing doesn’t suck (that bad). #
- We keep remembering different ridiculous things @amandapalmer & @brianviglione did last night & giggling manaically. Phillip Glass dance! #
- @ilovecharts @CPierceVT I have an ongoing obsession w/divining how companies license non-classical hold music. Must be a way to break in. in reply to ilovecharts #
- @ilovecharts @CPierceVT oh, i’d certainly be game, but I’m sure there are licensing/publishing companies out there specialized in it. in reply to ilovecharts #
- @ilovecharts @CPierceVT but that’s what’s interesting: are there artists out there w/ publishing deals primarily pushing them as hold music? in reply to ilovecharts #
- In the car debating all of Madonna’s current revenue streams. A little tricky to figure out now due to her 360 deal with LiveNation. #
- @ilovecharts @CPierceVT But, how do you get IN to the database of crap? in reply to ilovecharts #
- While reading comic books is good research for my @nanowrimo, it’s not going to help increase my word count. #
- @IONRyan It’s 11/13 a few block from where TrendCamp was. $5 for the day (8ish sessions) If you’re in town I’m playing w/@filmstarband 11/12 in reply to IONRyan #
- Enjoying both the concept and execution of http://whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com (via @mariatsciarrino) #
- 2026 words into my @NaNoWriMo, which is depressingly only about seven paperback pages. Hoping it will get quicker after page 40 or so. #
- @KateFromage Indeed, the adjective count will creep up as the month wears on. I spent so much time outlining, but chapter one is killing me. in reply to KateFromage #
- Awesomely disturbing Scenes From A Multiverse comic from last week: These Modern Days http://t.co/SUCEZs8 #
- @KateFromage No, I know this 1 thing about myself: if I skip & say I’ll go back the book will never be done. I have to at least do a draft. in reply to KateFromage #
- Good morning! In my sleep I figured out to connect chapters 2&3 of my @NaNoWriMo back to the master outline. Writers’ block ended! Awesome! #
- @KateFromage haha, works great for me with songs & blog posts, but I’ve tried to write this book at least thrice so far. No skipping around! in reply to KateFromage #
- @Cecilyk good vibes in full effect! in reply to Cecilyk #
- Philly mod squad alert: Kenneth Cole on Walnut is having a store-wide 40% off sale for Election Day. #
- For the record, I feel Sestak & Onorato’s message has been off in Philly. It’s not “Why you should choose me.” It’s “Why you MUST vote.” #
- @platypusjones I was fuming when E told me you hit them at 50% off this weekend! I would have saved so much more money! in reply to platypusjones #
- @platypusjones And if you bought anything for under 40% off they’ll store credit you the difference. in reply to platypusjones #
- En route to see if – changed my voter registration in time to make it onto the list at in my new district. If not, a provisional ballot! #
- I’m not listed at my polling place, but they said I can likely vote with a provisional ballot. Waiting to have someone explain how it works. #
- No vote for me. My change in registration didn’t go through, so even if I vote provisional it won’t be effective in time to be counted. Argh #
- It would be great if @nanowrimo would let me log in to report my words for the day, but it claims I’m not a user. God, I am invisible today. #
- I am now over 5,000 words into my @nanowrimo novel. I’m not sure in what universe that constitutes a 10th of a book. Certainly not mine. #
- Read my 1st chapters to E & she says a character is “too obvious.” Apparently I’m telegraphing plot too hard after outlining for 1/2 my life #
- Day two of @nanowrimo ends with 5,720 words and two chapters completed. I’ve intro’d almost all of the primary cast – now time for action! #
- @nanowrimo Are there known login issues right now? I received a verification email but my link is dead and my email isn’t recognized. Halp? #
- @KateFromage @iWIC3 Thanks both for your kind words. Much worse things could happen than being invisible to registration systems for the day in reply to KateFromage #
- In all stripes today, but no stars: http://twitpic.com/33kqp7 #
- @gloriabell Both I and @not_pele are already salivating in anticipation! Nothing compares to fresh Krispy Kremes, and we’ve been in withdraw in reply to gloriabell #
- @gloriabell @bigredtim @edidit Krispy Kreme tweetup is a must! Do they know their brand loyalty is so strong it creates instant street teams in reply to gloriabell #
- You’ve been waiting months to witness me rocking bass lines w/ @filmstarband – next Friday in NoLib you can see it! http://on.fb.me/cOVQms #
- @amanda_nan Yeah, but non NoLibs people are more likely to want to visit NoLibs than Fishtown. Truefacts! in reply to amanda_nan #
- @joshwoodward Hey, I just bought yet another discmakers CD from a local artist: digipack w/plastic CD holder. I’ve never seen their booklets in reply to joshwoodward #
- @shunmahoney I love fresh fruit too, but sometimes I just need something that resembles ice cream that I can’t eat a pint of in one sitting. in reply to shunmahoney #
- @matthewebel Best of luck; he’s by far the best drummer I’ve ever seen by leaps and bounds. Plus on Sunday his harmony was better than ever! in reply to matthewebel #
- Challenged @arcati81 to a soundtrack song like I’m writing for @ericsmithrocks‘s book, & she wrote a tune for Boardwalk Empire. Show-off. :) #
- At ultra-schwank R2L w/ @melgreiner for celebratory lunch for the United Way campaign w/our team and the CEO! Practically a swim to arrive #
- @joeross Ahh! That might be a little too terrifying, although I am trying to lock if off in 2-chapter segments. Are other people doing that? in reply to joeross #
- @matthewebel I totally dug you at #140conf this year and have been following your digital exploits, but admittedly have been remiss in DLing in reply to matthewebel #
- @matthewebel Indeed, & I’m constantly in awe of your communication/subscription model. Perhaps today you’ll finally make it onto my iPod :) in reply to matthewebel #
- Love: “Ashley, why are you so sparkly? Do you sweat glitter?” @smashleydubs: “Maybe I’m a vampire! I’ve suspected that my car is a vampire.” #
- @joeross I’m actually hesitant mostly because I want to eventually turn it into a comic book, so I’m cautious of the text floating around. in reply to joeross #
- @joeross oh, I was just worried about spoilers ;) – I’ll think about it, but I’ll also spread the word a bit to my nano friends in reply to joeross #
- @joeross Mine as well, though I’ve been attempting this book on/off since age 13. Perhaps we should engineer some sort of meetup to write?;) in reply to joeross #
- We have an awesome refrigerator-sized box that I hate to part with. Since I don’t like kids maybe we can borrow some kittens to play in it? #
- Working out world-building details of my @NaNoWriMo with @not_pele. Man, being a novelist is complicated. #
- Me: “…and that’s the villain’s motivation! Yes! Boom!” @not_pele: “Don’t you mean BoomSlam?” Me: “Yes. BoomSlam.” CC: @mikeyil #
- NY Mag’s book critic reviews rap anthology, then listens to the songs for the 1st time in this fascinating NPR interview: http://n.pr/cr6Srz #
- Halp: I need a Philly peep who can answer questions re: physics relationship between light & heat for me, a layperson. Superhero fan a plus. #
- @impossibly Excellent. I am reading various wiki links and “For Dummies,” but at some point I’m just going to have wacky questions. in reply to impossibly #
- @brimil Now you’re a character in my book too, but in mine you’re sort of like a superhero version of Lady Gaga. I thought you should know. #
- @Not_Pele @platypusjones Got a little silly and tiresome at the very end, but otherwise a rare taut sci-fi flick. Have you seen Solaris? in reply to Not_Pele #
- Received an email from @arcati81 w/this sentence: “You want her to be able to say she has control over the entropic reality of the Universe” #
- @iladelphia I wasn’t even aware it was a word INSIDE of Philly… in reply to iladelphia #
- @brimil I have FAME-related plans for you to perhaps illustrate a cover for my illustrious tome. Ever try painting background over a photo…? in reply to brimil #
- At WHYY headquarters to take in their Friday Arts live performance and screening, and to chat with the team behind the Ulysses Seen iPad app #
- Wow, this week’s episode of http://whyy.org/fridayarts is awesome – literature, art, music, and sustainable local farming! I loved it. #
- The episode will air tonight at 8:30p on WHYY in the Philly area. Highly recommended! #
- There’s sustainable, locally raised meat here! Meat I can eat! Amazing. #
- Just had to mime through an action scene with @not_pele and a folding chair in our kitchen. Would have been simpler if we owned handcuffs. #
- @MelGreiner @marykateruf But, I saw VIDEO of the pigs being hand-fed and loved. Actual video evidence! I may have been eating that very pig! in reply to MelGreiner #
- @marykateruf @melgreiner There’s a lot of blood and then a really delicious roast of some kind? in reply to marykateruf #
- @maura @mjsbigblog First the comment about wanting to sound like Garbage, now this. I am beyond excited for the next Kelly record. in reply to maura #
- @marykateruf @melgreiner Meanwhile, turn on WHYY in three minutes. The piece on Josh’s app is the first one, and it’s really cool! #
- If you’re in Philly & near a TV tune in NOW @WHYY (channel 12) for the Friday Arts piece on the locally grown @UlyssesSeen iPad app. Awesome #
- We don’t own handcuffs. We do own hard plastic ties, & that’s how I was tied to a chair to research my @nanowrimo: http://twitpic.com/348r5p #
- Not sure how anyone gets anything of substance done w/o @not_pele to talk thru details. Physics, composition, anatomy, tying me to a chair… #
- @shunmahoney @not_pele When my book is released you will appreciate the incredible accuracy of fending off attackers while tied to a chair. in reply to shunmahoney #
- The @nanowrimo Research Desk is a hilarious forum for trivia about everything from happy meals to blowing up landmarks http://bit.ly/cdCWdY #
- It’s noon on Saturday & I’m writing an entire chapter of @nanowrimo dialog to be read aloud at some distant future point by @brimil. Too fun #
- I thought I made up Dallas, Georgia, but their commerce website is real (& charming), so I’m promoting them in my book http://bit.ly/9cZ7OD #
- What’s a non-derogatory way a Southerner would refer to a NE seaboard city-dweller (i.e., probably not “Yankee”)? #
- @amanda_nan What? Like, open house at your actual HOUSE? in reply to amanda_nan #
- @RobIsEvil Because @not_pele would always come home to find me locked to improbable things to play Houdini or research my book. Or both. in reply to RobIsEvil #
- @RobIsEvil Like, “city” as a noun in place of their name? I kinda like that. in reply to RobIsEvil #
- @brimil Also, can you do accents from adjacent states to Louisiana? in reply to brimil #
- Ooo, first scary crash of @NaNoWriMo! Good thing I’ve been saving early and often, but still enough to make me paranoid. #
- @amanda_nan Ha, I was thinking earlier that though I was considering this character to be based on @brimil her dialog is turning out you-ish in reply to amanda_nan #
- Fairly drunk in our living room presenting wedding invites to our bff couple. For now on: all client presentations after client is drunk. #
- Also, the iPad is very drunk-tweet friendly. This might be the first time I’ve had tablet jealousy so far. #
- @bengarvey Completely opposite opinion. Oh, how I hated the narrative structure of that movie. in reply to bengarvey #
- I have encountered my first fictional character who talks on her own. She could go on for 100 pages. I have to get her out of this scene. #
