This is the end, my friends! My last post loosely mapping 600+ missing and most-wanted Marvel omnibus volumes. This post covers Star Wars, as well as Marvel’s FOX properties and some other licensed errata – none of which is part of the Marvel Universe.
This post explains titles and potential Omnibus Mapping for entries on the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 12th Annual Secret Ballot. You can vote right now (until 5 April 2024 @ midnight US ET) or watch our mega-length announcement stream reviewing every single voting option.
If you’re not sure of what to vote for, stick around for my explanations. Or, if you’ve already voted, learn why the team behind the poll decided on these books and titles – including some of my mistakes and regrets as one of the editors of the options on the final poll.
Or… just find some great comics to read!
Remember: These mappings are just my suggestion of how Marvel could assemble these books. They are meant to help you decide on your votes and build your personal reading list, but your vote on the poll is NOT an endorsement of my specific map. It’s a vote in favor of Marvel creating a book with that title or covering that period.
Over-the-top comics posts like this one are made possible via the support of Patrons of Crushing Krisis. For less than the cost of a single comic issue a month you can fuel my in-depth comics coverage, plus gain access to dozens of exclusive collecting guides & reading orders – including all of the Crushing Comics Guide to Marvel Comics.

Marvel Star Wars Expanded Universe Omnibus Mapping
Marvel is slowly making their way through omnibus volumes of the new Expanded Universe launched in 2015. See the Guide to Star Wars Expanded Universe Comics for how to read and collect these comics now!
Star Wars: Age of Star Wars (Age of Republic, Age of Rebellion, Age of Resistance)
A series of one-shots covering the three different film trilogy era of Star Wars.
Star Wars: Age of Republic (2019) one-shots included Anakin Skywalker (2019), Count Dooku (2019), Darth Maul (2018), General Grievous (2019), Jango Fett (2019), Obi-Wan Kenobi (2019), Padme Amidala (2019), Qui-Gon Jinn (2018), and Special (2019).
Star Wars: Age of Rebellion (2019) one-shots included Boba Fett (2019), Darth Vader (2019), Grand Moff Tarkin (2019), Han Solo (2019), Jabba the Hutt (2019), Lando Calrissian (2019), Luke Skywalker (2019), Princess Leia (2019), and Special (2019.
Star Wars: Age of Resistance (2019) one-shots included Captain Phasma (2019), Finn (2019), General Hux (2019), Kylo Ren (2019), Poe Dameron (2019), Rey (2019), Rose Tico (2019), Supreme Leader Snoke (2019), and Age of Resistance Special (2019).
These were each collected in their own oversize hardcovers, but could be combined into a single omnibus to celebrate the event.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunters (2020 – 2023)
This would collect the entire, recently-concluded Bounty Hunters series (not to be confused with the War of the Bounty Hunters event).
This would collect Star Wars: Bounty Hunters (2020) #1-42
Star Wars: Crimson Reign (2021 Event)
This would collect all of the Crimson Reign indirect crossover event from 2021 crossing through all of the Rebellion-era titles. It immediately followed the War of the Bounty Hunters event.
This would collect Star Wars: Crimson Reign (2021) #1-5 and roughly Star Wars (2020) #19-25, Star Wars: Bounty Hunters (2020) #18-22, Star Wars: Darth Vader (2020) #18-22, and Star Wars: Doctor Aphra (2020) #16-20 (not all of those issues may have been tie-ins, but they were collected in the tie-in titled trades).
Star Wars: Dark Droids (2023 Event)
This would collect all of the Dark Droids event from 2023, which was not a direct crossover but did have a distinct reading order.
This would collect Star Wars: Dark Droids (2023) #1-5, Star Wars: Dark Droids – D-Squad (2023) #1-5, and roughly Star Wars (2020) #37-41, Star Wars: Bounty Hunters (2020) #35-42, Star Wars: Darth Vader (2020) #37-41, and Star Wars: Doctor Aphra (2020) #32-40 (not all of those issues may have been tie-ins, but they were collected in the tie-in titled trades).
Star Wars: Darth Vader (2020) by Greg Pak, Vol. 1
This would begin to collect Grek Pak’s ongoing Darth Vader series, which has recently broken the 40 issue mark.
Star Wars: Doctor Aphra Vol. 3
This would continue to collect Alyssa Wong’s Star Wars: Doctor Aphra (2020) series from issue #26.
Star Wars: Episode 4.5 Limited Series
(Chewbacca, Han Solo, Lando, Lando – Double or Nothing, Princess Leia, Tie Fighter)
This would collect all of the mini-series that fit between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.
This would include Chewbacca (2015) #1-5, Han Solo (2016) #1-5, Lando (2015) #1-5, Lando – Double or Nothing (2018) #1-5, Princess Leia (2015) #1-5, and Star Wars: Tie Fighter (2019) #1-5.
Star Wars: Poe Dameron (2016 – 2018)
This would collect the entirety of Charles Soule & Phil Noto’s Poe Dameron from Star Wars: Poe Dameron (2016) #1-31 & Annual 1.
Star Wars: Star Wars (2020) by Charles Soule, Vol. 1
This would begin to collect Grek Pak’s ongoing Star Wars series focused on The Rebellion, which has recently broken the 40 issue mark.
Marvel Star Wars Legends Omnibus Mapping: The Old Expanded Universe
Now that Marvel is just one volume away from completely reprinting Star Wars Legends comics in Epic Collection, they have started to focus heavily on collecting all of those comics in omnibus.
This list represents all of the pending omnibuses that we can expect, based on the mappings of the Epic Collections. Check out the Guide to Star Wars Legends: The Old Expanded Universe to see what each book will contain.
- Star Wars Infinities
- Star Wars Legacy Vol. 1
- Star Wars Legacy Vol. 2
- Star Wars Legends: Clone Wars Omnibus Vol. 1
- Star Wars Legends: Clone Wars Omnibus Vol. 2
- Star Wars Legends: The Empire Omnibus Vol. 4
- Star Wars Legends: The Menace Revealed Vol. 1
- Star Wars Legends: The Menace Revealed Vol. 2
- Star Wars Legends: The New Republic Omnibus Vol. 3
- Star Wars Legends: The Newspaper Strips Vol. 1
- Star Wars Legends: The Old Republic Omnibus Vol. 2
- Star Wars Legends: The Rebellion Omnibus Vol. 3
In addition to those expected omnibuses, already-mapped omnibuses, our poll also contains four books that would not correspond to specific Epic Collections.
Star Wars Legends: The Clone Wars Adventures
Marvel has never collected this material in Epic Collection, possibly due to lingering rights issues. It includes Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures Volume 1-10, Star Wars: The Clone Wars Magazine, and Reversal of Fortune web comics.
Star Wars Legends: The Movie Adaptions, Episodes I to VI
This would be an omnibus collecting all of the adaptations of the first six films, which at this point are no longer Expanded Universe Canon even though they adapt canonical stories!
This would collect Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) #1/2, & 1-4, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones #1-4, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005) #1-4, Star Wars (1977) #1-6 (Episode IV: A New Hope), Star Wars (1977) #39-44 (Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back), and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983) #1-4.
Star Wars Legends: Boba Fett
This book would cross eras and Epic Collections to pull in all of Boba Fett’s story material – and maybe some of Jango Fett as well!
It could include a minimum of Star Wars: Boba Fett – Enemy of the Empire #1-4, Star Wars: Blood Ties – Boba Fett Is Dead (2012) #1-4, Boba Fett – Enemy Of The Empire #1-4, Star Wars: Blood Ties (2010) #1-4; Star Wars: Blood Ties – Boba Fett Is Dead (2012) #1-4; Star Wars: Empire (2002) #7, 28; Star Wars: Boba Fett (1997) #1/2; material from Star Wars Tales (1997) #7; Star Wars: Boba Fett – Overkill (2006) #1; Star Wars: Boba Fett (1997) #1/2, Star Wars: Boba Fett – Twin Engines of Destruction (1997) #1, Star Wars: Boba Fett – Bounty on Bar-Kooda (1995), Star Wars: Boba Fett (1997) #2 AKA Star Wars: Boba Fett – When the Fat Lady Swings, Star Wars: Boba Fett (1997) #3 AKA Star Wars: Boba Fett – Murder Most Foul, and Star Wars: Boba Fett – Agent of Doom (2000) #1.
Marvel 20th Century FOX Omnibus Mapping
Alien & Predator vs. DC
This would collect various Alien vs. DC, Predator vs. DC, and Alien vs. Predator vs. DC comics,
I think this would consist of the following:
Aliens: Batman/Aliens (1997) #1-2, WildC.A.T.s/Aliens (1998) #1, Batman/Aliens II (2002) #1-3, Green Lantern vs. Aliens (2000) #1-4, Superman vs. Aliens (1995) #1-3, Superman/Aliens 2: God War (2002) #1-4
Predator: Batman Versus Predator (1991) #1-3, Batman Versus Predator II (1994) #1-4, Batman Versus Predator III (1997) #1-4, and Superman vs. Predator (2000) #1-3
Aliens vs. Predator: Superman and Batman versus Aliens and Predator (2007) #1-2
Alien vs. Predator: The Original Years, Vol. 1
Did you know this eventual film originated from Dark Horse Comics?! FOX always considered AvP to be its own distinct continuity from Alien, which is why we haven’t seen these comics in omnibus yet at Marvel as they work through the Alien and Predator omnibus lines.
This would begin to collect Aliens vs. Predator (1990) #0-4, Aliens vs. Predator Annual (1999) #1, Aliens vs. Predator: Duel (1995) #1-2, Aliens vs. Predator: Eternal (1998) #1-4, Aliens vs. Predator: War (1995) #0-4, Aliens vs. Predator: Booty (1996) #1, Aliens vs. Predator: Xenogenesis (1999) #1-4, Aliens/Predator: The Deadliest of the Species (1993) #1-12, and material from Dark Horse Comics (1992) #25, Dark Horse Insider (1992) #1-14, Dark Horse Presents (1986) #34-36 & 146-147, and Previews (1988) #77-88
Alien vs. Predator: Fire, Stone, Life, & Death
This would combine the contents of “Prometheus: The Complete Fire and Stone” and the entire “Life & Death” saga.
It would include Alien vs. Predator: Fire and Stone (2014) #1-4, Aliens: Fire and Stone (2014) #1-4, Dark Horse Presents (2014) #2, Predator: Fire and Stone (2014) #1-4, Prometheus: Fire and Stone (2014) #1-4, Prometheus: Fire and Stone – Omega (2015) One-Shot, Alien Vs. Predator: Life and Death (2016) #1-4, Aliens: Life And Death (2016) #1-4, Predator: Life And Death (2016) #1-4, Prometheus: Life and Death (2016) #1-4, and Prometheus: Life and Death Final Conflict (2017) One-Shot
Indiana Jones: The Original Marvel Years
This would collect The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones (1983) #1-34, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) #1-3 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) #1-4, and material from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Magazine (1989) #1.
Indiana Jones: The Dark Horse Years, Vol. 1
This would begin to collect Dark Horses’s Indiana Jones comics.
That would include The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992) #1-12, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (1991) #1-4, Indiana Jones: Thunder in the Orient Vol. 1 (1993) #1-6, Indiana Jones and the Golden Fleece (1994) #1-2, Indiana Jones and the Arms of Gold (1994) #1-4, Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix (1994) #1-4, Indiana Jones and the Sargasso Pirates (1995)#1-4, Indiana Jones and the Shrine of the Sea Devil (1994) #1, Indiana Jones and the Spear of Destiny (1995) #1-4, Indiana Jones Adventures (2008) #1-2, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) #1-2, Indiana Jones and the Tomb of the Gods (2008) #1-4
Planet of the Apes Magazine (1974 – 1977)
This would collect full magazine issues from Planet of the Apes (1974) #1-39.
Marvel Licensed Properties Omnibus Mapping
2001 A Space Odyssey
This would collect 2001: A Space Odyssey [Marvel Treasury Special] (1976) #1, the official movie adaptation, and 2001: A Space Odyssey (1976) #1-10, a looser extension of the film (that begat Machine Man!).
Akira (Colored Marvel Epic Line)
Marvel’s version of the all-time classic Manga Akira featured colors that were exclusive to Marvel’s license. This would collect Akira (1988) #1-38, which take multiple volumes – issues are 60+ pages each and the non-Marvel version has been collected as a full box set!
Alf
The preferred licensed comic of all Near Mint Condition fans, this would collect ALF (1988) #1-50 & Annual 1-3. (Marvel Comics Presents Alf (1988) was a reprint of issue #1.)
Barbie
Come on, Barbie, let’s go omni! This could begin to collect Barbie (1991) #1-63, Barbie Fashion (1991) #1-53, Barbie Halloween Special Edition (1992) 1992 & 1993, and Barbie & Baby Sister Kelly (1995) One-Shot.
Battlestar Galactica
Marvel made comics of the original Battlestar Galactica – not the incredible mid-00s reboot! This would collect Battlestar Galactica (1979) #1-23, which I’ve recently learned is hated by many fans. Marvel has reprinted this in trade paperback before.
Beavis and Butt-Head
This would collect Marvel’s comic adaptations of the iconically dumb pair of MTV cartoon characters Beavis and Butt-Head (1994) #1-28. & Ashcan
Big Hero 6
This story is always weird to try to explain.
Writers Joe Kelly, Joe Casey, Duncan Rouleau, & Steven Seagle together form the studio “Man of Action Entertainment.”
Seagle & Rouleau created Big Hero 6 to appear in Seagle’s Alpha Flight (1997), but they wound up being released in their own mini-series Sunfire & Big Hero 6 (1998) #1-3.
Despite ostensibly being an X-Men comic, Seagle & Rouleau retained the rights to their creations – which they would later spin off into film and TV adaptions by Disney. Subsequently, Disney licensed comics of those adaptations, not all of which were made by Marvel, but the ultimate rights to which still reside with Man of Action Entertainment.
So, what would this collect? If I understand this correctly, technically all Big Hero 6 comics should be fair game if Man of Action Entertainment agreed to let Disney continue their license and depending on the individual licenses of each comic. That could include Sunfire & Big Hero 6 (1998) #1-3, Big Hero 6 (2008) #1-5 from Marvel, Big Hero 6 (2015) Vol. 1-2 by Yen Press, Disney Big Hero 6: Heroes of San Fransokyo (2017) OGN by Joe Books, Big Hero 6: The Series (2019) #1-3 by IDW,
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser
This would collect the Hellraiser Marvel comics Clive Barker’s Hellraiser (1989) #1-20 & Annual 1-2, Clive Barker’s Book of the Damned: A Hellraiser Companion (1991) #1-4, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser Spring Slaughter (1994) OGN, and material from Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Posterbook (1991).
Clive Barker’s Hellbreed (1995) #1-3 was a UK reprint title. I don’t know my Hellraiser lore, so I’m not sure if Clive Barker’s Night Breed (1990) or Clive Barker’s The Harrowers (1993) relate to this at all.
Human Fly
This is not an adaptation of the famous Jeff Goldblum film! Instead, it’s Bill Mantlo creating a character based on real-world stuntman Rick Rojatt in The Human Fly (1977) #1-19. Though this was set in the Marvel Universe, I believe it exists in a similar zone as Godzilla – where Marvel isn’t necessarily the rights holder of the character.
Ren and Stimpy
This would collect Marvel’s comics adapting this pair of rude mid-90s cartoon characters.
It would collect The Ren & Stimpy Show (1992) #1-44 & Mini-Comic as well as material from The Ren & Stimpy Show Eenteracteeve Special (1995), The Ren & Stimpy Show Halloween Special Edition (1993), The Ren & Stimpy Show Holiday Special (1995), The Ren & Stimpy Show Special (1994), The Ren & Stimpy Show Special: Four Swerks (1995), The Ren & Stimpy Show Special: Powdered Toast Man (1994), The Ren & Stimpy Show Special: Powdered Toastman’s Cereal Serial (1995), The Ren & Stimpy Show Special: Sports (1995),
The Ren & Stimpy Show: Around the World in a Daze (1996), anf The Ren & Stimpy Show: Radio Daze (1995).
Whoa, I guess that’s actually two Ren & Stimpy omnibuses – at least!
Shadowline by Epic Comics (Doctor Zero, Power Line, St. George, & Critical Mass)
It’s unclear to me if this is technically an imprint or a licensed property, since it was all created by Archie Goodwin.
This would collect Doctor Zero (1988) #1-8, Powerline (1988) #1-8, St. George (1988) #1-8, and A Shadowline Saga: Critical Mass (1990) #1-7
Shogun Warriors, The Original Marvel Years
This series was based on a line of Mattel toys. It would collect Shogun Warriors (1979) #1-20
Strikeforce Morituri
Strikeforce Morituri was created by writer Peter B. Gillis and artist Brent Anderson. I’ve found articles about Gillis selling the film rights, so I think this is technically a licensed work.
This would collect Strikeforce: Morituri (1986) #1-31 and Strikeforce Morituri: Electric Undertow (1989) #1-5. (Strikeforce Morituri: We Who Are About To Die (1986) #1-8 was a reprint series).
Tales of America: NFL Superpro & Team America
Why did we combine a motorcycle gang and NFL Superpro? I’m still not sure. They’re as closest as Marvel comics to a line of sports comics! This combines the all-American motorcycle stunt team Team America (1982) #1-12 and football-playing superhero NFL Superpro (1991) #1-12 [as well as U.S. 1 (1983) #1-12 – see below!)
CK Commenter Matt has owned up to being the original submitter of “Tales of America” on a past Tigereyes poll. Here’s what he had to say about this map (and one comic I missed):
When I submitted Tales of America it had a third series included – U.S.1 (1983) #1-12. A series about American truckers.
The idea is to collect up three very American sounding, short lived series, into one place. Saving all three from the orphanage.
All three are meant to be terrible. No one is going to vote for them. But they are all 616 and so completionists like me would buy this anyway. :-D
Thundercats: The Marvel Years
See Guide to Thundercats. I recently discovered while researching my Thundercats guide that Marvel presided over a vast extension of Thundercats continuity between ThunderCats (1985) #1-24, a Marvel comic that often adapted or extended episodes of the cartoon, and ThunderCats (1987) #1-129 & Annual 1987-1991, a UK comic magazine that added a boggling amount of comics and prose to the universe. This material isn’t considered official canon to the cartoon, but it almost all interacts with it smoothly.
Transformers (Marvel UK)
Transformers (The Original Marvel Years)
It seems unlikely that Marvel would reprint this original Transformers continuity material now that Skybound holds the license.
These books would begin collect material from the twin Transformers (1984) series – Transformers (1984) #1-80, a comic based in the US and Transformers (1984) #1-332, UK-style comic magazine in the UK

I wonder if I thought US1 was so kind of typo or if I even noticed it in the notes from past polls?! I’ll amend that.
John F. Pannozzi says
The Indiana Jones omnibuses could also include “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Yearning” (a FCBD 2009 short story), material from Indiana Jones and the Lost Treasures #1-2, material from Indiana Jones Adventure Magazine, some French graphic novels (Indiana Jones et le Secret de la Pyramide, Indiana Jones et la Cité de la Foudre and Indiana Jones et le Grimoire Maudit), material from The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Magazine, and the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles newspaper strip.
Also, you missed Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) #1-3 from Indiana Jones: The Original Marvel Years
