Hmph… blogger does not seem to be compensating for the time-change… i suppose it won’t be in effect in California until it’s 2am there, which is another nearly three hours. Or something. I’m much too tired to figure out all this time-change b.s. Last year i was at a party during the time change, so i didn’t have to worry about it. And then i wrote “Crashing.” Yes, we’re definitely coming up on the big “Crashing” retrospective next week; interestingly, i didn’t even make note of the two-year anniversary of “touch.” That’s rather sad, since it was my banner song for quite a long time. I’ll try to get a new interview with me done soon so you can hear about all sorts of new songwriting psychology. If you have any questions, please interview me by your own whim. It’d be fun.

I’m defeated. Even after changing the write permission of the archive file and its backup to “read only,” blogger went in and overwrote them. In fact, not only did it overwrite them, it changed their write permission altogether. I’m extremely impressed with Blogger’s ability to fuck with the settings of my server…

Meanwhile, why the hell does blogger have to totally destroy your archive index page every time you change some idiot little setting? I just changed settings to allow me to have four days’ worth of posts on the main page, and my archive disappeared. Luckily, i had a backup copy of the index file, so i just uploaded it and changed its permission to “read-only.” Ahh, the power i wield now! Not even the backwards machinations of blogger can defeat me!

So, is everybody having this stupid freaking “active server pages” error with blogger, or is it just me? Is this all gonna go away when i have my own pretty hosting? Tell me if you know. In the meantime, i’m listening to Tori’s Denver show from last year’s tour. It’s so awesome that Pearl Jam released those 25 bootlegs… Tori would probably chart top200 with a hell of a lot more than 5 of them if she did that, but she’s much too much of a perfectionist. I actually think we’re due for another live Ani album… but that’s just me.
