All About Crushing Krisis

Welcome to Crushing Krisis, the longest continuously-running blog in Philadelphia.

Crushing Krisis found it’s name because my internet handle has always been “Krisis,” and I started blogging to record all the things I was crushing on (or that were crushing me).

Crushing Krisis was born on August 26th, 2000. Since then I have made 3761 posts containing a total of 994443 words. That means I have posted an average of 264 words per post, and 272 words per day over 3658 days. My longest post so far was What I Tweeted, 2009-11-22 Edition. Stats by Word Stats v2.0.5

CK has been the home to of both my writing and my original music. It currently features a mixture of almost-daily musings on life, Philly, being married, and mass media, among other topics. I also talk about my experiences as a performing singer-songwriter.

My music has been a feature of CK even before I was actively gigging – my Trio podcast might have been the first singer-songwriter podcast feature on the internet, and it’s certainly the longest running.

Crushing Krisis currently runs on WordPress, and is hosted by Dreamhost, one of the most reliable hosting services on the internet. I recommend both services without reservation.

Now that I’ve entered my tenth year of blogging, there’s a lot of CK here for you to read. You could take a random dive into the archive, but that’s a daunting journey. To help you get started, I tagged my favorite posts from each year: Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5,Year 6, Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9.

After you’ve done some reading I’d love to hear about your favorites, especially if they are posts I haven’t already highlighted!

I actively read and respond to all comments left on the blog, so please don’t hesitate to leave a note or question. Or, if you’d prefer, you can contact me via my contact form.

Thanks!
