What I Tweeted, 2009-12-27 Edition

December 27, 2009 by krisis

My best and most-interesting tweets of the last week.

Quotes of the week:

Chipotle must be very high in umami. That's the only possible explanation for how I could love something more than ice cream. #

Great post. RT @trevor_neilson: RT: @kanter @socialentrprnr What can Pepsi learn from Chase Fail? http://bit.ly/6XXxxb @socialcitizen in reply to trevor_neilson #

Agree/Disagree: Any best songs of the decade list that doesn't start with "Since U Been Gone" is badly calibrated. #

1,000 True Fans, a fantastic article: http://bit.ly/568LhN (re: last night, @brimil) #

Dying of LOL listening to "I Sure Hope I Don't Have To Beat Your Ass This Christmas." Master Shake is my #1 Role Model. http://bit.ly/6NXn1q #

This is the greatest X-mas song ever. I wish Master Shake could be my internal monologue. Did I mention it's live & you can DL for free? #

Oh. "Christmas is a time for forgiveness." "Forgiveness does not turn chicks on like Old Spice shower gel." #

This is BS. Vick does not deserve to be a public figure anymore, let alone win awards: Eagles vote Vick Courage Award – http://bit.ly/8Ceyx8 #

I swear, if by some outside Phillies-blessed chance the Eagles win the Superbowl I AM NOT GOING TO COUNT IT because Vick is on the team. #

Nothing puts me in the Christmas spirit quite like the last half of the first act of RENT. #

Oh: "Your a very special family of nerds that I fit in with so well." #

You should follow me on Twitter so you can read my tweet action as it happens.

    Sunday Night / Monday

  • Chipotle must be very high in umami. That's the only possible explanation for how I could love something more than ice cream. #
  • @sethgoldstein part of my major scale back on cheese was learning to season food with other things that have umami. in reply to sethgoldstein #
  • Great post. RT @trevor_neilson: RT: @kanter @socialentrprnr What can Pepsi learn from Chase Fail? http://bit.ly/6XXxxb @socialcitizen in reply to trevor_neilson #
  • I cannot get over how very feminist Avatar was. All of the positive plot points hinge on female characters. #
  • Avatar's feminism not too surprising, as Cameron made what I consider to be the most feminist action flick ever, Aliens. @amanda_nan in reply to amanda_nan #
  • @amanda_nan It's definitely scary, and dated, but Sigourney kicks so much ass in it, it's unreal. I have the boxed set for our sci-fi day :) in reply to amanda_nan #
  • Good morning, all! I think this week is already on its way to awesome – off today & singing Rent w/the fam on 12/24. What about you? #
  • Start your day w/some music – a video of us playing Fisher Price, Live @ Rehearsal: http://bit.ly/AC0912-FP #
  • @kaytee_did Mmm, all wonderful fun. I'll be writing blogs, editing videos, and practicing songs. A shame we can't do this together :) in reply to kaytee_did #
  • How is it noon already? My productivity on this off day is not quite as high as it needs to be. And I'm doing stuff! Really, I am! #
  • HILARITY: ''We don't need to throw snowballs. We're a classy crew here in Philadelphia. Save that for the parking lots.'' – Andy Reid #
  • @sethgoldstein @phillydesign Was thinking, "Clearly he did not watch much 90s Eagles football if he thinks we're too classy to throw stuff." #
  • @BethHarte False. Fulfilling the minimum requirement never won anyone acclaim. Customers will take (positive) note if you disclose more. in reply to BethHarte #
  • Listening to masterful "Lady In Blue" from Tori's recent @daytrotter session: bit.ly/6xt1NH -I'm a little off her this year, but still great #
  • SI: 1k temp workers @ Linc before snow ended on Sat, put up in luxury boxes while not shoveling. For 17hrs, in shifts, they shoveled. Wow. #
  • @BethHarte I think it's enough for me to be loyal in a vacuum, but doesn't it leave a potential channel for their competitor to usurp? in reply to BethHarte #
  • @yellowxbirddd Actually, nearing my 1yr marriage anniversary ;) – Stuck in the house tidying, but want to shoot a song out in the snow. in reply to yellowxbirddd #
  • Let me take a moment to say how thankful I am that you follow me! I know I can drown out your feed at times. I love having you listen :) #
  • Voice exercise time: la mai noh gaw la the tè duh. la sha bao si puh gaw vi ru #
  • @paullucci I am such a crap solfege singer, it isn't even funny :) in reply to paullucci #
  • This morning I posted the first of NINE new HD videos from my duo, Arcati Crisis. Did you see it? http://bit.ly/AC0912-FP #
  • @anniemal You have so much karma owed to you right now. The universe is having some major karmic constipation. It needs to get regular. in reply to anniemal #
  • If I could just hire an intern to synthesize my bookmarked links into helpful blog posts, & if they also did laundry, that would be AWESOME. #
  • @deanna413 I think that would involve me having spare money to pay them. Also, I kinda look down on Kottke now that he has an asst editor. in reply to deanna413 #
  • @deanna413 I always had paid internships, so I don't think of them as freebies. Have to keep that in mind, though :) in reply to deanna413 #
  • Fan of @TheGuild? Then this will probably be the coolest thing you've seen all day: http://bit.ly/5ZaCP9 #
  • I seriously need to find a house with open wi-fi to idle outside of for uploading HD YouTube videos, because it takes eons from here. #
  • I'm exhausted: cleaning, laundry, vocal training, guitar rehearsal, video-uploading, blog-writing. I lived my full-on life of leisure today. #

    Tuesday

  • The @septa website claims my primary bus is running as mapped, though all of my alternates are on hard-core detours. I'm hoping that's true. #
  • Love it. I'm 3/5 right now. @SarahRobinson RT @DannyBrown 5 things you should do now http://bit.ly/6UZyyw from always reliable @drewmaniac #
  • Watch the first-ever video of my monster pop song, Love Me Love Me Not: http://bit.ly/AC0912-LMN #
  • Kudos to @septa – all of my non-detoured routes running totally on-schedule. #
  • @mikeyil This is an evil boomslam. RT @theinquisitr Brutal: Boy wreaks Facebook revenge on sister http://tinyurl.com/yzk6c89 #
  • Just noticed that Eric Hutchinson has a sheet music book out. That's awesome! Hopefully means he got an awesome publishing deal. #
  • OMG, @MiekaPauley looking to play a house concert in January. Possibly the best anniversary party EVER? http://mieka.com #
  • Agree/Disagree: Any best songs of the decade list that doesn't start with "Since U Been Gone" is badly calibrated. #
  • On the bus with my work choir on the way to sing (and play, in my case) for local grade-schoolers! #
  • I always forget how Charlie Brown looks like a little old man. Oh, Charlie. #
  • .

    Wednesday

  • My video of the day is our brand-new duet on Falling Slowly, the Oscar-winning song from Once: http://bit.ly/AC0912-FS #
  • Great AICN interview with @joeldavidmoore1 AKA Norm in Avatar: http://bit.ly/7QZrO3 #
  • Says @amandapalmer, "This Christmas, let all of your friends steal my music from you." http://bit.ly/6SJ3Dy #
  • 1,000 True Fans, a fantastic article: http://bit.ly/568LhN (re: last night, @brimil) #
  • Toying with the idea of covering each of my Top 20 songs of the decade, but a handful are prohibitively difficult. Would you listen/watch? #
  • @KateFromage Oh, I am not shy about transposing. A few of them are really riffy & I can't figure out how I'd track them, let alone play live in reply to KateFromage #
  • @jenny_a1 I hope she knows she has people who she's never met rooting for her, thinking about her, & sending cancer-crushing vibes for her. in reply to jenny_a1 #
  • @KateFromage I am often a slave to the original at first – only songs that I seriously absorb into my repertoire get interpretive treatment. in reply to KateFromage #
  • Dying of LOL listening to "I Sure Hope I Don't Have To Beat Your Ass This Christmas." Master Shake is my #1 Role Model. http://bit.ly/6NXn1q #
  • This is the greatest X-mas song ever. I wish Master Shake could be my internal monologue. Did I mention it's live & you can DL for free? #
  • Oh. "Christmas is a time for forgiveness." "Forgiveness does not turn chicks on like Old Spice shower gel." #
  • Facebook is really intent on advertising gay cruises to me … probably on the strength of my interest in either Madonna or Rufus Wainwright #
  • Alright, I need to do something other than watch Twitter as if it's television. #
  • This is BS. Vick does not deserve to be a public figure anymore, let alone win awards: Eagles vote Vick Courage Award – http://bit.ly/8Ceyx8 #
  • I swear, if by some outside Phillies-blessed chance the Eagles win the Superbowl I AM NOT GOING TO COUNT IT because Vick is on the team. #
  • @mrdelv Vick isn't just a criminal – he was criminally cruel for no reason. He doesn't deserve to play football. I quit the Eagles over him. in reply to mrdelv #
  • Holy wow, the hook in Meiko's "Boys With Girlfriends" is deadly. A little too dressed on the LP; like it better acoustic. Still, love her! #
  • @drew I feel like she is so adjacent to music that I play, and I love her. I very rarely feel that. (PS: Good mp3 of Real Real Sweet?) in reply to drew #
  • @drew (I should mention that I had never heard of her up until 20 minutes ago) in reply to drew #
  • Compendium of "Secret Menu" items at the infamous In-N-Out Burger: http://bit.ly/7ODNbS #
  • @Joseph_Yi No, because it's general 1:1 communication. Social web is 1:many, even when the conversation is 1:1 in reply to Joseph_Yi #
  • I still cry when I listen to the Kelly Clarkson victory-lap "Moment Like This" from the first season of AI. #
  • .

    Thursday (X-Mas Eve) through Sunday

  • Just got through playing two hour-long shows with the work choir, plus a little interlude of Clarkson/Gaga for my awesome clients. #
  • Nothing puts me in the Christmas spirit quite like the last half of the first act of RENT. #
  • Looks like my YouTube Top 20 songs of the decade idea might really happen! Bro said he would guest-vocal on one. Now to convince wife… #
  • Seems like one of the only songs every Best-of-Decade list can agree on is "Maps" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs … which is a good one to agree on. #
  • Also noticing a lot of lists selecting Radiohead's "Everything In It's Right Place." A little surprised, but happy to see it! #
  • I'll admit I might be leaving that just shy of my Top 20 so you don't have to watch me count the changes live on YouTube… #
  • Good lord, I hate the majority of the songs Pitchfork picked. I swear, you have to have your tone-deaf head stuck up your ass to write there #
  • Actually, to be fair, Pitchfork's top 200 songs of the 60s is solid: http://bit.ly/5h6MbE #
  • Practicing my parts for tonight's RENT singalong… #
  • Got through a particular desperate session of rock band vocals w/bro on drums. Now time for dinner & re-watch of Star Trek! #
  • Oh: "Your a very special family of nerds that I fit in with so well." #
  • Snuck out of xmas along w/wife & sibs to see Avatar. #
  • I've never lived anywhere where going to the movies on xmas was the marquee event – all showings sold out! #
  • I knew I couldn't get out of this day w/out being stranded in a grinchy situation – I'm the lone grump who doesn't want to see another film. #
  • Belated team verdict on Sherlock Holmes: merely adequate. Strong performance from Downey, but Ritchie not up to the task. A Nolan knock-off. #
