Putting this Catwoman guide together should have been super easy. She’s had one mini-series and four ongoings since 1989 plus Gotham City Sirens (already covered in the Guide to Gotham).

That, like, two hours of work tops, right?

Well, you know me: my motto is “make it harder.” It wasn’t enough to just knock together a list of collected editions for those series. I also had to list all of Catwoman’s many guest-starring turns, plus explain her continuity a bit.

I understand that better now than I did before and I also appreciate my Catwoman collection a lot more. Catwoman is one of the female characters I decided to go “all-in” on long before ever knowing I’d have a DC section to Crushing Comics. I own every ongoing issue in this guide through New 52, plus a slew of her guest appearances, so working on the guide was a fun chance to break out my short-boxes.
