This one’s courtesy of /usr/bin/girl. Can you imagine a world without Amazon.com? While i’m not exactly surprised that Amazon is bleeding cash at such a startling rate, i suppose i expected more of them. Why? Because CDnow went through a similar conundrum earlier this year, and as far as i know they are still headed to go under sometime next year. These companies offer discounts as deep as Circuit City or Best Buy on books and CDs, but those two real stores support those purchases by also selling appliances, computers, and televisions. CDnow has no diversification, and Amazon diversified their product by picking up movies and CDs. Why, oh why, did they see the need to compete with CDnow? Wouldn’t have been better for the both of them to join forces? Or something… Anyhow, it just seems like anyone could have anticipated this. CDnow had several chances to bail themselves out earlier in the process with possible merges with the likes of Columbia House. Sadly, at last check the outlook isn’t good for them. I, of course, am pissed off: other than using their site as my at a glance discography for any artist in the world, i wanted to apply for a co-op job there. Oh well, back to packing.

So, i of course just got up. I didn’t expect to sleep into the mid day because i got up at a very reasonable hour yesterday; oh well. I have to get up at 9am tomorrow either way to sign my lease and head out to the coffee shop, so i’ve really only got 8 usefull hours today, tops. If you catch me blogging alot, please yell at me to go downstairs and pack. Cause i should definitely be packing. Well, repacking. Somehow we managed to get everything here, but some boxes are just a random mix of coffee mugs, sheet music, and pillow cases. Gotta fix that.

Curiously, after my three day reign of absolute terror over the P.B. list, i have yet to find a link to me on any other blog (except the mutual luuuve with Not So Soft). I suppose i’m not exactly being friendly, but i was sorta hoping the folks at Survivor Blog would invite me over to the island for drinks (or at least i would get a two word plug from usr/bin/, but i suppose she’s been on the top of that list for months now and so doesn’t check in too much). So, if you link me please let me know so i can say sexy sexy things about your blog here. Not that i’m asking you to link to me. Because i’m not.
Anyhow, now that i’ve essentially proven to myself that i can be #1 on the list, i will revert to a more “normal” update schema. Or, maybe this is the normal one. We’ll see when i wake up.

Welcome to the Hollywood Stock Exchange!
Not sure quite what to make of the place, but apparently it lets you buy and sell pretend stock in your favourite famous peoples. Ani and Tori go for nice prices, but Tracy Bonham’s a steal!
