In a vaguely troubling turn of events, both Rabi and I found ourselves with a distinct lack of a posting template on blogger, with ours replaced with the generic “Hi, i have a blog” template that everyone starts out with. Attempts to alter the template have been fruitless, although publishing with them in place apparently has no effect on anything. Hopefully this is a sign of Ev finding the solutions to my archiving problems! Go Ev!

As if Microsoft wasn’t evil enough already, now they’re putting links into pages wherever they darn well please with their new Windows software. Watching the public relations people dig their way out of this hole is mildly amusing if you forget for a minute that the evilest corporation around is trying to weasel it’s way into another place where no one seems to want it just for convenience’s sake; they claim smart-links will be inserted onto pages that are underlinked, and that the feature will be incredibly easy to turn off. Right. Judging by my current technology curve i won’t be using the software until i graduate, but in the meantime i’m hoping this page has enough links as it is. And, anyhow, here’s one more.

The rain started pounding down so hard that i couldn’t even make out the light that was on in the window across the street, and it was in that exact moment i decided i needed to be sitting on my windowsill with my legs dangling out of the window enjoying the storm. After futzing hopeless with the endless leak that is my air conditioner i finally just threw some towels down on the window sill, threw the screen open, and leaned out into the rain. So, here i am in my nearly unlit apartment with colors splayed on my ceiling from my omnipresent bubbly floor-lamp and Diana Ross and the Supremes telling me all i ever needed to learn about love via my stereo.

If anyone feels like going out to dance in the rain, just let me know…

As if i wasn’t distracted enough at work already, now i have a new toy. I’ve always been really horrible with vector-related games like this because i naturally bring my mouse way in back of the vector to get finer leveraged control of it, but here that’s the equivalent of shooting a golf ball out of a cannon. Via the ever-distracting and much-loved Meg.

Update: I was only one over par on my second try, but i feel as though playing against other real players will scare me and i’ll be awful. For such an incredibly straightforward and simple game, MiniGolf has too many damn subtlies!

If you ever find yourself standing in front of your bathroom mirror with your mouth wide open and an exact blade in hand checking your teeth for cavities, it’s either time to make an appointment with your dentist or time to invest some cash in the proper tools to accompany your degree in home dentistry.

Just a thought.

I honestly haven’t had a cavity in so many year that i totally forget what it feels like, and so whenever i have the mildest toothache or sensitivity to cold or hot food i’m immediately in front of the mirror poking around in my mouth with something sharp. For the record, exacto blades are much too unweildly and i’d much prefer to use a compass, but i seem to have misplaced mine. Between this and my stubborn refusal to get my hair cut professionally more than three times a year, i come off as some sort of whacky anti-personal-maintenance version of a Christian Scientist. But, honestly, i could get my hair trimmed twice a month and it’d still be in my eyes all the time! What’s a boy to do…
