I’ve gotten to the point where i’m just leaving a fork in my box of precious precious cheesecake so that i don’t have to rinse off a new one ever time i decide to have a piece. Leaving me here alone for more than a day or two is rather dangerous, because everything loses all semblance of order without Matt around to make me feel self-conscious about it. I practically have the door barricaded with discarding clothing, shoes, and shopping bags, not to mention the musical war-zone. And, i’m still denying that the bedroom even exists, let alone how much it needs to be organized. I mean, didn’t i just clean before i left for Florida? ugh…

Everyone in my entire family commented on all of the weight i’ve gained and how good i look now. In a way it’s nice, because none of them ever compliment me on anything so i know i must look healthier, but since i’m not entirely comfortable with my new 20 pounds i’m not exactly thrilled that it was a big subject over Christmas Eve dinner. I think my issue is that i’m filling out well enough, but i’m not really shaping any of the weight, so if i gain any more i might look a little pudgy, which of course would make me very upset. My whole body-image is a very fragile thing, and i know i sound like a teenaged girl, but i’ve always been very thin and this is taking some getting used to. Not to mention that i definitely have a big wheezy fat gene on my father’s side of the family. I should obviously give up meat again… and god help me if i ever start drinking beer… (well, god help us all…)

In a totally prescient moment, i went to the bathroom to retrieve my shirt (drying from shopping in the rain) and put it on just as the buzzer rang for me to pick up my dinner down at the front door. Yes, that means i had been blogging shirtless all along. One more reason to buy a webcam for me, darling. Meanwhile, the guy at the grill at Mad Greek’s was the opposite of prescient because he didn’t put extra-cheese on my chicken cheesesteak even after i explicitly asked for it. Grawr! Solution? : Put lots of cheese-fries on my cheesesteak! Yay for my massive intelligence!

I walked around in the rain today for hours. I really didn’t want to – what i really wanted to do was sleep in. But, eventually Matt persuaded me to wake up and join our friends on a random day in the city, and i wound up having (damp) fun. Included was the most excellent piece of cheesecake in the entire universe. It was the best culinary orgasm i’ve ever had. I’m going back on Monday to order a whole cake. Ummm….

Hmm… which is funnier? A woman and a gay man chatting about the men they’re dating, or a man and a lesbian fighting over the same woman? As much as i love Will & Grace, lesbian characters are a little rarer in primetime comedy, at least when they aren’t just being ogled and objectified (the last one i recall was Ross’s hilarious wife Carol). And, in this case, i think they were a little funnier as well. Of course, it’s only on NBC where you can’t be treated to this much fabulousness in a single night! And now they’re making herpes jokes! Yay! Herpes jokes on primetime. They’re catering to an audience of… me!
