I’m always very intrigued by all sorts of interesting webrings like Domain-ated and Need, but when i look at them i realize that i’m not entirely too interested in lumping myself in with such a group of people. Also, i refuse to use WebRing.org sing Yahoo bought it, which is the same reason i left Geocities around this time last year. I was hoping that Yahoo would be able to seamlessly integrate each site that it absorbed, but as it is it just gets harder and harder to reconcile your well thought out user names and passwords as Yahoo adds site after site to their network. And, frankly, they don’t offer a single service that i can’t find a better version of elsewhere. So there!

I’ve put myself in a weird place by offering hosting on my main page without any sort of qualifier about who i would or could host. So far i am hosting a handful of IllegalOp staff members, since their site collapsed under it’s own weight, plus my roommate matt, and courtney (a good internet pal of mine for quite a while now). In Courtney’s case, i knew her site was amazing so i practically recruited her for hosting. This week i also offered to host Stephanie from NewWorldCoffee so that she could put together a respectable digital portfolio. So, the pattern is that i host friends and nice sites. But, what about random people? I want to host quality content, good looking pages, and savvy webmasters. So far i’ve had a couple of requests from people with no website, and i had to turn them away. However, i just got a request from here, and i’m not entirely sure what to do. Obviously my first order of business needs to be putting up a hosting info page so i don’t get so many random requests, but i’m not sure if i should invite him to UpRush.org or not. any thoughts?

I have a life now. How scary is that… i have internet friends complaining that i’m not online enough! Me! The boy who was on IM for a week straight last spring. The fact is, i’ve just made more of a home for myself at Drexel, which means i have less of a home on my computer and in my apartment. By ditching my involvement in theatre (yeah, it’s ditched, more on that later) i’ve been able to increase involvement in things like PiNuEpsilon and the newspaper, things i actually wanted to do last year. And guitar ensemble, which is just about my only practice playing with other people these days. Plus, i actually go out with friends on Friday’s and Saturdays now, and i work twice a week. So… maybe this just sounds like me bitching, but in reality it’s just me telling you that i’m happy now that i’m busy, and i’m sorry that the thing that has to suffer is this. Sorry.

I over-narrate. My songs are all stories that i tell again and again. This log is less musings on life than bland daily (and hourly, and momentary) reports on the status of my life. My annalytical term papers are “too narrative – though it makes for a good story.” Hell, even my prose is too – i don’t know – prosey. I am much to fixated on ways to say things and not nearly interested enough in the ways that allow me to expand upon the story being told. It’s the same as my album reviews saying everything about a song except for a single thing about its sound. I’m not sure what i’m supposed to do about it, but there it is, laid out as plainly as i can understand it. Or: is that the problem….

Stop reading me. I’m horrible. I should wither and die from the face of the internet.
