So, being the smooth operator that i am, i just attempted to fling my balled up socks through our hallway and into my laundry basket in the bedroom. The actual chances of hitting the basket were rather slim, but i should’ve been able to at least get them past the threshold of the bedroom. But, did that happen? No. Instead, the socks veered to the right, ricocheted off of the wooden molding on my bathroom door, bonked my medicine cabinet mirror hard enough to rattle it, and then disappeared from sight. But, we all know where they wound up, right? I think we do. Because, i’m much more of a dumbass than i am a smooth operator.

The funny part? Bookmakers in vegas would probably lay 100 to 1 odds i could never get my socks into the toilet (a perpendicular angle from the bathroom door) on an intentional throw. You see, all of my fuckups are spectacularly fucked up. Life is wonderful.

I’m hoping to figure out what time it actually is by posting. I know last night was the time to spring clocks ahead one hour, and that computers typically do this on their own. However, my computer made no mention of the change as it typically does and it still seems to match the clock in my bedroom. So, either technology flunked out on this one, or Matt was thoughtful enough to set our bedroom clock forward an hour when he eventually got home last night. I can’t really figure out which of the two is more likely, though. So, i turned to blogger.

The morning is lovely. Maybe it’s not, but i have all of my windows closed and am swaddled in comfy pajamas, so all i really need to see is sunlight streaming through my window to be convinced. I don’t think i’m going outside today; i spent enough money this weekend to carry me through two or three lonely days in the apartment. Instead, i’ll just sit here and stare at that endless perfect blue that frames all the beaten old buildings across the street from me. Contrast.

Everything here is in it’s right place; it’s as though my apartment has resolved back to where it began, only with the memory of all its accumulated along the way. I’m not a sucker for completeness, but i like when things come together, and i like feeling okay. And right now i can see more hardwood floor than i’ve been able to see in months, and i feel okay. This past week i’ve felt like life has started to come together, and spending today with the people i came here with just added to the good cheer. Maybe once i really find a life of my own, i’d be ready to let someone else into it. I hope so…

So, first you take a bunch of high school friends and put them in an apartment four three hours with 7 electrical musical instruments, and then you take most of those same high school friends and give them a largish bottle of vodka, several gallons of orange juice, and their favourite Simpsons episode of this season (around which they construct a drinking game). Then, take the only two that are vaguely drunk, put them in a car with the totally sober one, and send them deep deep into the suburbs to go bowling. Yes, bowling. And, that, my dear reader, is how to have a fun Sunday during spring break..
