Got up. Went to class. Went to work. Got home. Listened to my messages. Laid in the middle of the floor and cried. Skinned my knuckle punching the wall. Cried. Put “1,000 Oceans” on infinite repeat. Clung to the stereo and sobbed like a child. Went to rehearsal. Love y’all, really i do.

Last night we were lying in bed talking about what we did over the weekend, and she turned to me and said “every time i do something with you it feels like the first time.” She mostly meant this on the level that everything from giving a hickey to walking down the street holding hands is new to me, and that i approach it all with a sense of wonder and humor instead of duty or trepidation. But, in a way, it actually sounded like she was telling me i made it all new for her again…
I cried a little bit last night, but she just thought it was because my eyes were tired. And they were. Anyhow, excuse me while i fall head over heels…

A short conversational treatise on hickeys in the workplace:
frank, my manager: Damn, what happened to your neck?
krisis: Um… i dropped something on it. Yeah. Dropped something on my neck. Hurt like hell.
frank: Dude, it looks awful. It’s all purple and bubbled up….
krisis: Um, yeah, let me just button up my shirt.
Thank god for collared shirts, that’s all i have to say about that one…

How do find the right frame of mind for a relationship? I mean… being wholly unexperienced, i wonder these idiot sorts of things. Did you always assume you’d grow old with every person you ever dated seriously, or did you just assume they’d last for a month or two and then fade away. Were you ever pleasantly surprised either way? is the trick just to expect nothing and enjoy what you have? Well, yes, of course it is, but i need a framework in which to look at things, and i don’t know if i can deal with “You’ll be that person who i dated for a year in college and still send postcards to.” I mean, if you admit it will end, why bother starting … except so that you can have the experience. Yeah, i suddenly know how to answer all my own idiot questions, see how much more interesting i am now?

No one ever agrees with me, but i think people are at their most radiant when they first wake up in the morning. During the night your skelton sorta resets itself, and so does your face. When i look myself in the mirror in the AM i notice the corners of my mouth are higher than usual, and that the little laugh lines i’ve accumulated have smoothed themselves out. Of course, during the day i’ll pick all of that back up, and then some, but it’s nice to be a clean slate for a few minutes before life sets in.
Isn’t it frightening that i already have identifiable laugh lines on my face? I suppose they’re ultimately the sign of a happy life, but i’m not sure that i’m ready for wrinkles before the age of twenty. The alarm clock just went off really blaringly loud, which made me laugh for all of two seconds before the noise got to me and i turned the damn thing off. Matt and i are never here, and i can’t imagine when the alarm was set or for which of us, unless Matt was here yesterday and i totally missed him (which would be pretty funny). I’ve probably spent less time here than Matt in the last week, which is rather disturbing in and of itself. I swear… at this point we’re paying rent just to keep stuff in here.
