Isn’t it funny how a hard day at work turns into a mad scramble to pay off your credit card debt as soon as you find out your childhood idol will be potentially opening her US tour in your hometown? Anyhow, all my work stuff is taken care of, so i can just sit here and check my messages all day while i line up who’s got which credit card, and who can come on which night.

Well, after working here for nearly a month it would seem that i’ve been fit in to the social ladder quite nicely, with people i can idly pal around with but also with people who intend to nitpick on me every day. Of course, nitpicking me becomes incredibly pointless when i basically do anything i’m asked to do… case in point: today is casual day, and i wore jeans. Not ripped jeans, or frayed jeans, just a nice pair of dark blue jeans. One of the staff tried to chastise me, since jeans are apparently not the sort of “casual” that we’re looking for, and i replied “Next week i won’t wear them, but i wore these same jeans last week and no one said a word. Perhaps you need to establish a written dress code.” See, … i can’t always be sugary sweet, because i obviously feel as though i’m being fucked with when someone tries to put a strike against me for doing something they themselves have never commented on before. So, i had to get my little barb in about the dress code. But, anyhow, i’ll be happy not to wear jeans next week, but today they just have to deal.

Today is boring. I finished my paperwork, i don’t have to give a tour, and i don’t have an overnight until tomorrow. Very tame. So, i’m just sitting here eating truck-lunch and having my daily chat with Gina. I let out such a loud scream when she showed up at the shop-call last night that our director thought i lost a finger to our table saw. We’re playing an open mic this Friday, so if you’re a Drexelite, make sure to show up in the Creese Cafe around 6:30 to see us. God, i’m really fucking boring. Um… insert something about sex [here]. There ya go. That was pretty raunchy.

Today is the ever-exciting “Data Entry and Manipulation” Tuesday, which, as you can tell, i’m taking a teensy break from. Which should be a teensy Ani-filled break. But, chatting up fellow co-op students around the Delaware Valley on aim is a nice distraction, and all of this frantic typing gives the illusion of me working even though i’m on my lunch break :p

Back to hectic hectic office life, as opposed to hectic hectic convention life. Of course, i tend to miss convention life slightly more than i miss office life. By the way, is there some statute of limitations on when i’m allowed to have a crush on someone new? Having never dated before, i’m apparently treading on thin ice right now since i like someone new. Only, she isn’t new. But, let’s ignore the technicalities for now. Anyway, am i supposed to wait for Selina to get over me before i can flirt with other people? It’s been exactly a month since we broke up, and she’s still reading my webpage and holding the contents of it against me as much as she did when we first broke up.
The boy-meets-girl post from yesterday is what seems to be causing most of the trouble. What Selina doesn’t seem to want to believe is that i put “girl” (we’ll think of a psuedonym for her soon, i promise) totally out of mind for the entire time we were dating, because i only knew how to talk to her in terms of flirting. But, that wasn’t really true, that was my excuse to protect Selina from me talking to this girl at all. In reality, she was the last person i talked to before my audition for Good Woman of Setzuan, and the first person i told about getting my part. So… that’s not just flirting, is it? I honestly found her to be the person i wanted to share that with. But, anyway, i stopped talking to her for two whole months and i’m sorry i did because she’s an amazing person and i missed being able to randomly IM about how much we hated school. The fact that she has a boyfriend now is pointless to dwell on – because i was with Selina when they started dating, and i was in love with Selina. But, it’s my own dumb fault for not seeing her over our break. Like i said in that song… there’s no second chance at the first time.
