I felt a bit sick because i was out in the rain for quite a while last night. If i could have helped it i’m sure i would’ve made my way inside by the time it really started to come down, but it was the night of Pi Nu Epsilon’s scavenger hunt for the new members, and all the brothers and sisters of the fraternity come out to participate and hang out with the pledges. Anyhow, our hunt was on a balmy Spring evening, but the Fall class had no such luck, and so we ran to and fro all over campus with cameras in the rain. Early on in the sequence of events i sent my guitar home with someone who had work to do, so at least it wouldn’t be soggy when i got back to my apartment.

I apologize for my temporary absences; i typically do take Monday & Wednesday off because of school work, but after that huge rush of posts this weekend i feel as though i’m responsible for a letdown. I did wind up writing that song, though, so hopefully i’ll record it tonight and post it. I slept through my Recording Studio class today because i felt a bit sick, and the sleeping was helping. Afterward i realized we had a test, which might have subliminally had something to do with the sleeping, but i’m not sure. The funny thing about that class is that i’m great at all the studio stuff, but i keep getting B’s on the tests. I can’t stand that… but, i aced yet another C++ test, so all’s well. I still have a 100% in my C++ class — i wish i could take 10% off of it and spread it around to the rest of my classes

When you say “She’s a good writer,” it just sounds so awful. “Writer” isn’t really meant for that place in the sentence, and “Author” really doesn’t always fit either. That’s always bothered me… i suppose i’m just supposed to say “She writes well,” but what if i want to assign “her” a title such as “Writer.” What then? Not sure… newest alternative is “She’s a great collector of words.”

Sorry for my quietude – i am simultaneously writing a song in my IM-window with Spoon and reading all of WockerJabby‘s archives (she’s been around since march! That’s forever to me…). Lyrics might be forthcoming,… it’s a weird alternate tuning thing… i’m not even sure what tuning it’s in right now, actually. So far it might be called “can’t cure love.”

Finally…. finally, an attractive gay man flirted with me at work today. I was starting to think i ranked very low on the gaydar, or whatever it is. A gay friend tells me it’s found behind the spleen. Meanwhile, have you noticed that i hardly even whine about the fact that i register at all? Yep, i’m pretty much resigned to a life of having men hit on me, 1 in 10 of which won’t make me wanna run away in fear. Cause, i can only make pleasant non-flirting conversation with an ugly person for so long, you know.
