They’re all tiny facets of the same song. I do this sometimes… circle the drain. I just spin and spin and spin without ever getting to where i need to go. But, sometimes the end result is just somewhere in all the spinning. I have my guitar with me today at work and it’s lunchtime. We shall see where the day leads me…

Obviously i’m too busy or too apathetic or something, cause life is starting to get a little dull on this end. Life gets dull when i have no anchor and i just drift from hour to hour without any sense of where i’ve been or where i’m going. As distracting as it might be, having a crush or a demo or tour tickets to chase after gives me a sense of purpose, of forward motion. And right now i’m just sitting here eating lots of chocolate with zero motivation at all; i don’t want to be here but i don’t want to go home and i don’t want to be playing guitar and i don’t really want to go to my voice lesson because eating several pounds of chocolate in a 24 hours span does not tend to aid one in producing beautiful noise. Listless is the word. So, yeah, i’m just taking it one minute at a time as i crash down out of my sugar rush, hoping the clock will learn to tick a little faster at some point today (other than while i’m asleep).

Try not to panic, but i just recorded a Trio that will be up in the next thirty minutes. Just breathe deep… it’ll all be okay. Did i mention that i just wrote a new song twenty minutes ago? And to think i was gonna go to Easter dinner…

And now that week is over, so we’ve got to develop a new theme for this week! Howabout…. hmmm…. howabout making it all about how everything from popular music to hugging goodbye totally crushes me? We could play off the angle where my life is nothing except for what is is in terms of all that stuff that knocks me off my feet, and how i can get stuck on a single thing for hours or days in a totally irrational fashoin. Would that work? (Nearest response i can muster: “What we do every night, Pinky…”)

Of course, with me being the most un-subtle person in the world, i tend to take everything everyone else says to me rather literally. Except when i want them to be saying something to me … then i’m willing to twist words every which way in my head until i find the result i was looking for. This is why i should never be allowed to talk to other people. Just blog. Wouldn’t that fix everything?
