As adventures go, i think camping out in the Burkittsville woods on Halloween and then riding back up to PA in the back of a U-haul with a bale of marijuana and ten of your closest friends is a pretty decent one. But, bales of marijuana aside, what is there to do around Ft. Lauderdale Florida by yourself for four days in December?

I’m old enough to have adventures now. I mean, people much younger than 19 have them, but i figure i should start now before i gain too much wisdom or weight to avoid them like the plague. I don’t have a car or a license, but i do have a bank account and a visa, so the two cancel each other out. I’m going to Florida in about a month to visit some family, and i’m thinking i should have an adventure down there. Maybe just hop on some public transportation and ride it across the county, and then walk back. Sure, that’s tame, but Florida is practically India by my standards. And that’s sorta the problem. Last year i was going to drive up to Niagara with some friends and go binge drinking in Canada, but i fell out with them so it fell through. Other friends of mine made that same trip later that year, but they didn’t even think to ask me. Of course not.

I think i might start compulsively lying and making up stuff to make this more interesting. It just makes me a bit queasy thati get online and just spill all the contents of my head out onto my keyboard. It’s messy. And, crushing krisis has apparently become the behind the scenes guide to my life, since quite a few of my friends read it to catch up on what they missed and then talk to me about it. I’m actually okay with that, as opposed to some journalers who run screaming from their server when their real friends find them out. What disturbs me is that this is so banal now that my friends read it to catch up. It’s become just a pale reflection of my already pale life. Which means, those out in internet-land can’t be having too much fun reading it. Or maybe they are; humans are nothing if not voyeurs, and this is the perfect window to through which you can see me naked. And my ass isn’t even that nice…

My life has been reduced to nothing. All i know how to do is surf the internet, watch reruns of friends, sometimes go to class, sleep, and combinations thereof. I haven’t read a book since i got my copy of To Reign In Hell in the mail, and i really only ever play guitar if i have to record a Trio. My life, in a word, is boring. I don’t know how it got that way, but i suspect the internet’s to blame for a good deal of it. Whereas most kids nowadays get attention deficit disorder from flipping teevee channels, i get it from hyperlinks. Yes, folks, hyperlinks make me hyper. And now i can’t properly pay attention to anything that doesn’t have a little underline when i hover my mouse over it. So sad…

So, two days off and i accomplished absolutely nothing. Truely. Except, well, i got someone’s #. But, that’s neither here nor there. I just slept nearly 18 straight hours (with a small intermission) and finished off all of my pre-thanksgiving classes (partially due to the fact that i don’t do any work). So, here i am. Yeah. I think i’m gonna go to work early so i don’t sit here being lame.
