I am way too non-resistant to change. For example, just now i washed my hands over the bathtub and then brushed my teeth there without even the slightest hesitation. Was i upset that i couldn’t do this over the sink? Nope, not at all. I have a sad sad habit of just working around such small inconveniences, pretending that they don’t matter at all. Of course, in the end i’m just living in a world of crap and looking like an idiot. The best example of this is the D-string tuner on my guitar, which has been broken for well over a year. I had just replaced all the tuners on my guitar when it broke, so i wasn’t in the mood to tear my instrument apart to fix it. Fast forward a year and a half, and now i have to bring a pliers with me to guitar ensemble so that i can tune the D-string of my guitar. It’s pathetic. I think mother and i have agreed that i’m getting a nice acoustic guitar for christmas so that i don’t look like such an idiot. As if that’s gonna help…

Well, i was just almost implicated in a minor felony after the fact, but that’s what i get for not leaving the apartment until past midnite. As a rule of thumb, you should never leave after or get back before midnite. Totally. Anyhow, i’m supposed to be in the studio in under 12 hours (not that i’m expected to perform with any semblance of quality) to work on my project, so i should probably go to bed. And try to remember not to brush my teeth tomorrow unless it’s in the shower or in the kitchen. Oh boy, shaping up to be a great weekend…

By far, this is my favourite ballot tampering story so far. Honestly, i think we’re all already sick of the whole election BS, because it’s turned into some more of the same exhausting partisan politics. Personally, i just think the situation in Florida seems hugely unlawful and i want to see it resolved, especially because it obviously has a very direct bearing on who becomes our next president. But, really, this is just the direction our country seems to be sliding towards. Was the vote so close because the candidates are nearly the same, or because they truly polarized the nation? I think it’s a bit of both… with Bush and Gore being similar enough that the unconcerned just vote partisan, while the more savvy use their own personal set of litmus tests to figure out which candidate they should vote for.

I’m chatting via IM with a commenter on Shafted who happens to know about half of the people i met during Freshmen year. As it turns out, she lived exactly two floors above my room in Kelly Hall last year. As of right now, she’s having some mouse issues in her apartment, and has invited me over to dispose of her latest kill. And that’s as close to dating as it gets around here…
