This is the worst day ever. Ever. For example, when turning on my computer to simply print out my resume for a job interview i found i was out of black ink. You’d think replacing the black cartridge would make a difference in this situation, but no, that would be too easy. You see, every single cartridge i installed printed in the same spotty fashion – full, empty, or inbetween. Then, all of my dress socks mysteriously disappeared, meaning i’m in my full interview attire with grey cotton socks. And, apparently i’m not supposed to be wearing so much black because it’s intimidating. Well, you know what i have to say to that? I hope i intimidate the hell out of them! Grawr! This is the only job that i really want out of the ones i submitted requests for, and of course it comes on a day that i am obviously dying! Argh…

9am class: Canceled! Either the gods of blog were paying attention to me last night and granted me a wish, or i’m just dumb for not trusting my instinct to sleep in. Of course, that instinct invokes itself every day,… I actually had this bizarre dream where i woke up and thought it was already noon, and got ready in this huge hurry only to check a different clock to find it ws 8:40am (my typical departure time). Sure enough, i woke up to a reading of 8:39am on the clock and rushed to make it to class. Which was nonexistent. Anyhow, now i’m down on campus and i have class all day so i’m certainly not going back to the apartment. Of course, my first impulse was “get on the ‘net!,” so… erm… courtesy of the whims of my Recording Studio instructor, here i am.

The apartment is so deceptively warm that i was a bit shocked by the chill in the air when i finally managed to exit the building this morning. It’s not much of a shock, seeing as fall was getting rather cold for a while there, but after my illustrious Floridian flirtation with retirement and being holed up in the apartment for the weekend it served as a noticeable mark of a new year arrived. I made it to my first class on time, which probably bodes well for the semester as a whole (especially considering that i didn’t make it to my first class on time last semester). Also, there’s nothing quite like getting to class on your first day and having a big fat A handed back to you. Handed back? Wondering how it’s possible? Well, the class happened to be Advanced Recording Techniques, with the same instructor i had for Basic last semester. If only every class were to start with something as positive….

krisis: So, if i saw any cops i was just gonna chuck my drink into the snow and avoid trying to cross any streets.

matt: My guess is with your ability not to reason you would have thrown it at the cops.

I just did the most violent thing… picked up a pair of scissors and chopped off my hair. When it was long… a ponytail creeping down my back… it didn’t really matter if i cut a half inch or so off of the end to keep it looking fresh. But, ever since i did the big chop-off in august (it all came off) i’ve been saying that i want to get to a moderate length and then scale back to something short but hip. I somehow managed to get there all on my own, with all of my adorable curls piled on top of my head in some sort of hippy afro while i was down in Fl. But, ever since that one good hair day, it’s been plainly too long to get piled on my head, and it was weighing all of the curls down so that all i was left with was friz. Today i jumped in the shower and ran my hair through it and thought … “maybe just clip the ends a little.” When i got out of the shower, the resolve had turned to something more like “make sure it won’t get into my eyes.” And then it became…. get this junk off of my head. A quick jog to Amy’s later (she cleaned up the back of it) and now i have an impromptu cut for the New Year. Not nearly as sexy as the hip style i managed to get last year on the Eve, but it’ll do. The violence felt good.
