As previously mentioned, site’s that don’t work (or look dumb) in Netscape are ones that i generally ignore. I realize this isn’t some malicious conspiracy on the part of bloggers everywhere, but for your entire site to come up underlines in Netscape is something i’m sure anyone could easily fix. One such site is Conceited Much?. When i first saw its name on P.B i thought i would be terribly amused by it, but the only amusing thing was their old layout (featuring both posters kissing their mirrors and primping). They might be attractive (hell, they are), but they aren’t especially interesting. I want them to be, because i feel a certain kinship with any other person as narcissistic as myself, but unless someone can step in and explain the allure of their site i’m lost.

I feel that way about a majority of P.B’s consistently top10 sites, sadly. Maybe that’s a comment on quality over quantity, or maybe these people have too little life and too much time to talk about it (and, gee, neither of those comments sound familiar), but i just can’t bring myself to read them daily. More likely is the fact that i find weblogs extraneous and tend to veer more towards journal-like blogs for my personal enjoyment. I’ve evn finally ascertained the reason for /usr/bin/girl/’s existence (though i don’t really acknowledge it), and i actually stop by survivorBlog occasionally (though i refuse to send them any more traffic than they’ve already got).

On a more positive note, prolific is a great read (and seems to have temporarily) overcome their Netscape issues), geekgrrl dot log is rather witty, and i like /dan.el.ope/ just based on his indictment of an immature blogger who took a pot-shot at /usr/bin/girl…. oh, um…err… nevermind.

Netscape just ate another post. I thought i’d start keeping track of these things. You know, just to follow how shafted i am on a daily basis.

MattPollard finally added me to his prestigious “links to read” section, the lazy english bastard. I suppose that means i actually have to read his site now, since i’ve had a link up to him for days now

Joking. Matt’s linked to me enough already to get into the hall of fame, if there was such a hall for such an action. Thanx Matt! You ought to swing by Philly on your trip the United States; i’m sure to have phone service by then.

The eminently well designedPlastic Bag (formerly barbelith) is currently bemoaning his drop in standings at yet another irrelevant blog ranking site (beebo.org). I would suggest that the eminently well designed not worry about their irrelevant ranks, but look who’s talking.

My currently questionable status as a vegetarian aside, why must otherwise vegetarian foods use meat by-products for flavour? I just ate a Budget Gourmet stir fry dinner whose flavouring was made with chicken fat. The average consumer might not care, but to me it smelled like cat-food. I am off the opinion that you shouldn’t use meat for flavour unless necessary. I mean, why make us poor vegetarians examine the small print of your ingredients even when our meal only contain rice and string beans? Worse yet are restaurants who use bacon in their otherwise only vegetarian dishes and refuse to alter their recipes. Victims are usually potato skins, broccoli bites, chilli, bean dip, and tortilla soup.
