The Pope redeems the Catholic religion for me:
The pope is head of the Roman Catholic Church, but that doesn’t mean he believes only Catholics get into heaven. John Paul II says heaven is open to everyone who is good – a departure from a much-criticized Vatican statement that said that Catholics have the best shot at salvation.

PJ Harvey rocked my ass on Thursday night, by the way. The show was short because she was fighting off a nasty cold, but she rocked pretty hard despite various amounts of sinus problems and equipment failure. Her rhythm guitarist’s amp died halfway through the show. Died. PJ explained what was going on to the audience and then plugged him in to her own amp. Her more gadget ridden guitarist had one guitar tuned to open E that she beat with a drum stick. No lie. Hopefully PJ comes back around when she’s feeling a bit better. The highlight was definitely “Dry” with Ms. Harvey on the slide guitar solo. Rawk.

So, this whole semester went by without me being romantically linked to anyone. Not that this should surprise you; it’s in keeping with the status quo. However, i was sorta hoping i could finally end my 5th grade “crush” mentality and actually do something about the feelings i’ve had for someone. I did try that, to my credit. Oh well. Anyhow, it’s sorta funny, because this page is so often about me being rejected and me lusting after people, and here we are at the end of a semester and the situation hasn’t changed one bit. Ha. Let’s pretend that it’s funny. HA!

I’m thinking about ditching the idea of getting my combined Bachelors and Masters degrees in my five year stay at Drexel. As much as i want my Masters degree, the amount of classes i have to squeeze into my schedule makes me a bit queazy, and i would have to sacrifice one co-op job. And, co-ops are the only thing that makes my program worthwhile. So, i’m not sure what to do. I might actually take a second minor, this time in Information Systems. Our IST program is one of the best in the country, and that would give me more marketability in technical journalism fields. … ok, that’s enough about real life….

I am so freaked out about singing on stage for this play. I obviously can hold my own in the singing department, but that’s with songs i’ve written myself or while playing guitar. And, the song i’ll be performing won’t be either of those, although there’s a very slight chance i might get to accompany myself on a lute. So, just me, singing, out on a stage, in front of somewhere between 100 and 450 people. I’ll keep you updated (with audio, even).
