Liquid Web was such a nice reliable hosting service when i first signed up for it, but suddenly i’m find that my HTTP server or my FTP server are going down once a day, invariably. And, right now, both are down (so this won’t post), and Liquid’s own site is also down so i can’t even get their service number to bitch about it. This sucks. I like people to be able to see my webpage…

wow… further down my fit of actual weblogging, have you ever been to Halo33? I don’t think i’ve ever seen a log as busily well-designed as that one (and who do i have to sleep with to get a little square? I want a square!!!). Coincidentally, the writer at Halo also owns the delightful FuckMTV which is currently nominated as a Blog of Note at Blogger. Obviously this is a logger with some fair, eh?
Speaking of loggers with flair, my favourite Meg is going offline for a few days and actually invited submissions for a guest blogger. Do i even dare to submit my name for approval? The thought of Tom reading me for a day or too is just too intimidating, methinks. I promise to have a fun guest-logger if i ever leave you for an intentional period of time again. I would ask Spoon, but he never even writes for his own log (although, on the upside, he’d probably just whine about girls and music all day, so you’d hardly know i was gone). I actually have a few people in mind, so perhaps if i ever need to take a short leave of absence again we’ll line up some entertainment for y’all. But, anyhow, back to random surfing. Yum.

That’s actually a line from her journal, and it felt pretty relevant. I saw in going through the last few days of entries that she linked to my site (worlds colliding much?), so i want to return the favour now (if only so you can see the other side of the story), but i’d like to ask her first because she gets a tad more personal than i do in her log. So, Selina, if you read this, can you tell me whether or not i can link to you?

*sigh* … it’s a shame that i was so interested in hiding my private life from my friends at the time, because i’d love to go back and reread my first kiss with Selina. But, it’s not there. Not a single word. This is as close as it gets. Damned friends,… and so much for not jinxing it.

Well, i was going to post a public apology, but then it got lost to a shuffle of copy and pastes, so here’s the condensed version.
I slagged the new Patti Rothberg record on the 11th of January. I didn’t like it. Since then, i’ve grown to like it, but it’s my stance that i don’t reccomend albums that i don’t like on my first listen to the general public (though i still have kind words for them to fans), so i never updated my review.
This week Mr. Freddie Katz, Patti’s current guitarist and songwriting pal, found my site via Google and read my scathing review and my indictment of him as the fault behind why i didn’t like the album. He emailed me and basically pegged me as the kind of fan who isn’t. It hurt. But, it was true, because what i said hurt him, and as a member of the general public i shouldn’t have that right.
Whoever knew someone mildly famous might randomly search down their name on my website? Certainly not i. Anyhow, i replied to Freddie and apologized, and informed him that i quite like the record now, which is true. I honestly would have rather heard Patti produce herself, or play every guitar on the record again, but she’s the artist and he claims the record met her artistic vision … which is enough for me.
Anyhow, my best wishes to Patti and Freddie in the future. I’ll still be listening. I dunno if either of them ever want to talk to me again, though. I think what this all proves is that i’m a shithead… yep. In case you hadn’t figured it out already.
