Personal

Well, that was quite the interesting night out… no elaborations as of right now, but rest assured that i didn’t intend to be back quite so soon. Basically, one of my companions who never feels the effects of what he is drinking suddenly got past that boundary tonight. So, you can imagine i’m a bit concerned. I mean, i’m sure he’ll wind up fine, but tonight will not go down in history of one of his favourites. And, for the record, all i drank was water.

Reading old blogs from back when i was intelligent; imagine what this day will seem like a year from now… thoughts like that scare me. Looking back a year ago today i see a person that is entirely familiar but wholly different than who i am now. I hadn’t even written “crashing” for another handful of days. And, since my songs are an accurate sketch of my life, you can easily head over to the AMkitchen part of my site to witness all of the emotions i found over the course of the last year. I can’t even begin to imagine where the next year will take me … hopefully somewhere good.

hahahaha … took a religion selector test courtesy of multi-color blog, and i scored 0% compatibility with Catholocism! No wonder i usually refer to it as a cult… meanwhile, i’m off to be actually sociable now, so i’ll catch you later. I guess May wins for today over at PowerBlogger. I think i’m owed the 5 hours of having a life, anyhow…

I really don’t understand why/how May has 800+ click-thrus from PowerBlogger. The most i’ve ever accumulated in a single day was 30, and i never click myself … and i’m only at 150+ despite ruling P.B constantly on the weekends. I guess the key is making an appearance all week, but i simply don’t have the time or as many things to say as May. Although, i’d challenge you to find anyone else who makes as many actual updates as i do of comparable length. If you find anyone, i’d love to hear about it, so that i can link to the sleepless bastards. Nothing (sorry, no link handy, fix that later) is the only blog that i’ve seen make such an effort recently.

Major label’s suck. They basically strip-mine the industry for potential singles, sign artists, release albums, and then ditch artists. Said artists might get picked up by another lable for exactly such a purpose at a later date if they’re lucky. If not, a fade to obscurity is assured. Examples? Joan Osborne, Melissa Ferrick, Elastica, Aimee Mann, Veruca Salt, ect… though, some other political issues were involved in some of those lable hops. Apparently, one must be a Sheryl Crow or a Marilyn Manson, to name a random pair, to stay in the good graces of one’s lable. In other words, you need to be hugely A/C (ever hear of an Adult Contemporary artist being dropped?), a churning single machine, or a huge cult artist. I challenge you to prove me wrong through citing examples within the last three years in the music industry. If you can prove me wrong, i shall sing your praises. Only the five/six major lables count, and don’t be fooled by imprints… Interscope/Geffen, Island/Polygram, Maverick/Atlantic/WB, Virgin/EMI, Epic/Dreamworks/Sony… ack, which did i forget? Oh well… get crackin;!
