Somehow he has a copy of the new Garbage song, and suddenly nothing else in the world matters to me. I am – without exaggeration – already in danger of failing one or both of my two yet-to-be-experienced night classes if Garbage tours immediately following their 10/2/01 release of Beautiful Garbage. Also, i don’t know why in heaven’s name he still links me, but i truly appreciate it.

While his entire experience is definitely worth the read, you must go to Brendan’s page and at least read from the first occurrence of the word “flashing.” sigh … not only am i trapped in Philadelphia, but i don’t think i’m ever going to get to a country where Americans aren’t treated like shit … or at least, i won’t be able to speak the language enough to appreciate it. Anyhow, it’s exactly 12hours later there than here, and Brendan seems to be shocked that i’m on IM. The wonders never cease, folks…

I was going to post about this, but Amy beat me to it. I can do nothing but vouch for the fact that the entire situation is totally bizarre, and more of a comment on the oddness of U-City than it is an illustration of the failing of social work in Philadelphia. Or something.
And, anyhow, there’s a pretty big difference between Superman and Dick Tracy. For one, did Superman have “Vogue” on his soundtrack? No. I think a comparison of Batman and Dick Tracy would be more apt, since Batman‘s album of in-character Prince tunes can nearly compete with Dick‘s LP of Madonna channellings herself through the Material Girl’s of yesteryear.

While i certainly don’t agree with all of the musical opinions that Bertie sets out in this post, i can at least respect that the girl has her musical priorities straight. In fact, i’m almost totally in agreeance with her up until she makes the deadly mistake of comparing Ani DiFranco to Dave Matthews :p
