I somehow managed to become a link of choice over at In Passing, a site i hold in very high esteem. While i sometimes have trouble seeing how the mysterious author find conversations interesting or obscure enough to jot down, she still manages to do so with more regularity than i can even muster to whine about my own life. So, anyway, thanx muchly for the recognition – it’s definitely appreciated.

The illustrious and life-altering survivorBlog2 has finally ended… or, at least, it’s come to a grinding hault as we await the reporting of the final vote to be cast. I can’t think of anything else i’ve been that tangled up in in terms of competition and the people involved, and i definitely came away with some amazing friends. The funniest thing? I wasn’t even a daily reader of Ernie’s LittleYellowDifferent at the time and might not have even known he was accepting applications if not for Brad‘s offhanded mention of applying. I was convinced an asshole like him would never get picked, and so i applied for the hell of it. Wouldn’t you know… we both wound up on the log, but i spent more time kissing ass while i was around and wound up bitching less after i got kicked off then he did while he was around. Of course, Brad quit, so maybe he would have went on to win it all … we’ll never know. Anyway, now it’s just another piece of internet history, and i’m still here. Here doesn’t ever really change, does it? I always find my way back…

Thank the dear lord, Andre Torrez is back and i’m as in love with him as ever! His writing is incredible, and he actually talks about life, something i’m usually too afraid to comment upon. And, speaking of people i’m in love with, you ought to go read about how Rabi (or is it Audrey?) was almost arrested for some sort of fraud or something. It figures… any girl as cool as Rabi would have to be a world class spy or super-villainess.

Brant, i know what you mean when you talk about friends and acquaintances and how to tell the difference between them. Sometimes it’s hard to keep a perspective on what’s happening outside of yourself – like the disorientation you feel when you play a first-person shooter game from the camera angle that floats behind your own head. Sometimes you need to remove yourself from what you’ve got stewing inside and view your friendships from the outside, because then you realize how good some of your “acquaintances” really are for you. It’s not their fault that you can’t share all of your private life with them, and you need to accept them on the terms of what they do know and love about you rather than what they don’t. I went through a miserable and lonely couple of months last year when i decided that i didn’t have any real friends, until one of my real friends pointed out to me that it’s not her fault that i won’t share anything personal with her.
Of course, if we would share personal things with our friends, would we need the internet anymore :p
