I just wanted to return the massive amounts of linked love i’ve been getting lately from a few peeps. First, James from PuppetMaster has not only sent me all sorts of attentive visitors, but hit on me (i suppose to return the favour of my massive hitting on him early in the game). Next, SurvivorBlog1’s Nicci has turned up again and she seems to be all colours of obsessed with BigBrother2, which i didn’t even know was on until i read her log. Frykitty prominently mentioned my sex vs concerts rant the other day; she’s the cool cat in charge of Blog-a-Thon (which starts in 48hours, yum). Also, i’ve been seeing some action from Super Hyper Demon Child, where i’m sorta-kinda a poster, and a renewed stream of hits from Re @ Beautiful Freak – who’s been one of my favourites for ages. Nearing the end of my lil’ link crawl, Lost and Found has had me on their 10-favourites for months now, and while i’m skeptical that anyone could tolerate me for a daily basis for that long i’m incredibly gracious for the attention.

Finally, i’ve been getting tons of hits from JoeyRoo as well as a few other people where my link is a regular fixture, but i don’t have your addresses in my referrals! Not that i’m promising to return the linky-love of everyone on the internet, but if you’re someone who’s recently sent me a couple of handfuls of hits drop me a note so i can return the favour. Whee! Work is over now!

Erm, there are some things which i blog and some things that i only tell to the notify list, and such is life. But, anyhow, you didn’t miss anything between the last post and now because all there has been is sleep and work. And, as much as i’d like that to be directly followed by sleep, tonight is my last chance to record for the incredibly imminent Blog-A-Thon that begins Saturday @ 3pm my-time. If you have some last minute requests for the songs i’ll be recording, please drop me a message and i’ll see if i can work it in. I can tell you right now that there might be a mid-thon Trio, and that there will be at least one appearance of the lovely Gina on vocals and guitars. Okay… two more hours of work… here goes…

Un-Ugh. Home recording began last night and it’s entirely hilarious and fun. There will be surprises for you in the final mix of songs. Also, since the studio had its meltdown (thus making everything a lower quality), *all* donaters will get the best-of cd, and anyone who was getting anything better than that will get that plus what i’m affectionately calling Gone, which was the 7 studio songs i recorded (including the definitive versions of A Long Time Since and Atlas. No promises yet, but i should have it mastered by October, and it might wind up as a split EP with Gina.

Meanwhile, since i’m just fucking around on my home computer, extraneous covers have again become fair game. Email me with suggestions (i’ve already got two down that weren’t even in original consideration).

Things are continuing to happen in ways i didn’t intend them to happen. I have to be at check-in for Orientation tomorrow at 7am, and i am nowhere near sleep. My tooth is still killing me. I have a lengthy appointment with my academic adviser tomorrow that will involve hemming and hawing. I have a headache. I need to do laundry.

However, those are all concerns of an entirely pedestrian nature when held against my primary concern, which is as follows: today i went to the recording studio to see if i could boot up Pro-Tools and mix down songs for 25/24 only to find that the recording studio is now an empty room containing only a tape machine and a broom. In and of itself this event is cause for some amount of alarm because it means that 25/24 cannot and will not be a studio project as conjectured, and i’d almost rather not do it than record it on my computer. However, a commitment is a commitment, and so i should be recording things right now … except that my amplifier is now MIA because i was storing it in the studio so i wouldn’t have to carry it around, and it does not qualify as a tapedeck or a broom so it is not there. This all adds up to 7 days left for me to start from scratch (i had about a fourth of the songs recorded, but obviously they weren’t mixed down as of yet) and i don’t even have my amp to power my guitar. Lovely. At worst i suppose this’ll just wind up as some sort of 24-song extended Trio, but i was very serious about getting 24 quality songs recorded and i have every intention of getting it done, whether it’s for next Saturday or not.
