Some business: A) Huge congrats to Marissa, the newest cool chick to win a Survivor-Based WebGame. Despite accusations that she won by baring the most flesh the most often, i can honestly say that i found Marissa entertaining from my first sighting of her, and i think she was very deserving of the win. Now onto more PuppetMaster, where i’m currently splitting color-commentator duties with the illustrious Bertie, queen of all things sBlog. Being the peanut gallery for PM is fun, because i always have something to blog as long as the contestants are acting up; it has nothing to do with my own motivation. B) I am very gracious for the link from Prosiac, a wonderfully cleanly designed website that found me over at PM. Next, redesign related-links were blogged by sBlog2’s Josi and Matt Pollard (who’s probably linked me more times than any other page i read). Also, please go give Dane’s new log a day or two of your attention. Dane was pinch-blogging for Mollie of Book of Days while she was on vacation, and is also a frequent commenter at Rabi’s and a newly accepted student at Drexel. Finally, to finish up in the gratitude category, Tom from Nothing is the third sponsor of the 25/24 project (the other two being the ladies that the latter two links led to).

Rabi is finally a ‘blog of note’ on the Blogger.com sidebar, and i am happy for her. Two weeks ago i probably would’ve been happy and also a little jealous, but at this point i don’t expect Ev to read and then add my blog to the blogs of note because he still hasn’t read or fixed everyone’s ongoing archive problems. So, while i will not begrudge anyone the time to sit down and enjoy Rabi’s site, i will once again point out that i would write monthly checks directly to Ev to have a competent support staff at blogger to be able to deal with these small and various problems.

Blah. The lack of archives has really eaten the fun all out of this; they won’t even acknowledge that last week ever occurred, when it used to be that the only acknowledged last week. But, on the upside, i don’t need my alarm clock anymore. Really. Matt inexplicably got up and turned it off this morning (because the only thing that can motivate him to get up is an interruption of his sleep, if that makes any sense), but i still awoke at 8am on the dot. Why? Because i couldn’t breathe. We’ve achieved a very delicate balance of temperature here at 3604 Spring Garden, and it involves having the air conditioner on low blast and the windows open in the living room. This creates somewhat of a cross breeze and keeps the place liveable, but it also wakes me up every day unable to breathe or see because allergies are that fun.

And now it is time to be at work. Maybe another reason i haven’t been blogging as much is because work has actually been engaging me lately… forcing me to actually talk to students on a day to day basis and work on things in between. And, i have given myself my own work. I posted multiple times at CorLog yesterday, and i fixed up the AniGuitar archive, jumped into the at length political battle over at Repulsed, and i’m trying to install this whacky imaging software that Benjy uses at Linkstew so that i can start keeping an archive of webcam shots at some point. Last night, if you missed it, i was naked on the cam for almost the whole night. Yes, there will be a members only section of the archive :p

So, anyway, here i am almost late for work and saying nothing. This whole blog is about nothing, though Tom over at Nothing definitely beat me to the punch on that name. I like the internet again, because i have so many different things to do and read. And, i suppose in a way this page has become nothing other than my portal out to all of that, and i’ve been neglecting to reward you with the results of all of my wandering. So… more rewards soon, i suppose. Sorry about all of this…

In a vaguely troubling turn of events, both Rabi and I found ourselves with a distinct lack of a posting template on blogger, with ours replaced with the generic “Hi, i have a blog” template that everyone starts out with. Attempts to alter the template have been fruitless, although publishing with them in place apparently has no effect on anything. Hopefully this is a sign of Ev finding the solutions to my archiving problems! Go Ev!

The new bandwagon. Three or Five are false, depending on if you read them very literally or not. Enjoy the contemplation. Hints forthcoming:

  1. I have had exactly one serious scrape or cut, ever, and it wasn’t even that serious.
  2. I used to have a foot fetish before i understood what was supposed to be attractive about people.
  3. In my life i have consumed under 1 gallon combined of beer and/or cola.
  4. I still fit into my first pair of jeans.
  5. Before this year i had cried exactly twice since i left grade school.
  6. I haven’t shared a residence with more than one person at a time since i was 4.
  7. I was the reigning math word-problem champion in our Christian School League for two years running.
  8. I have never eaten a cut of steak other than fillet mignon when i was little, because my mom liked it.
  9. I have never been outside of this time zone.
  10. For the duration of highschool i claimed i had my first and only kiss to that point playing spin the bottle in 7th grade to avoid further romantic scrutiny.
  11. Until next year i will have spent a third of my life on welfare, a fifth of my life in braces, and nearly half my life without ever having a friend enter my bedroom.
  12. I learned to subtract from playing Monopoly.
  13. After my 5th birthday I have had a birthday party every even-numbered year of my life, until this year broke the streak.
  14. I briefly organized my 200+ cd spines to make a color spectrum, but the stress of having both black, gray and white Tori Amos cds made me give it up.
  15. Up until i stopped knowing what i wanted to be, i wanted to be a veterinarian.
  16. I was the worst reader in my first grade class.
  17. A girl kissed me approximately 3 years, 2 months, and 2 hours after when i originally asked a girl if she’d kiss me.
  18. The first time i was ever on stage i didn’t want to be there, and i forgot all of the words.
  19. In fifth grade i was the only student who decided to drop music class in favor of private (non-musical) study.
  20. I haven’t thrown up since 7th grade save for one nasty experience with Aftershock.
  21. I refused to wear anything coloured navy to the point of a temper tantrum until it became one of my school colors last year.
  22. Both girls i’ve ever asked out on a date wound up kissing my best friends.

I have some links to blog. Run for the hills.

Track4 is a solidly constructed music review site run by SpaceKitten on her Uprush domain, and i don’t even think i knew it was there (smooth one, huh?). I Am Generic is a really nicely designed site without too much flash-bang, which is my favourite kind of design (via MuffBlog). And, speaking of people with patience and rock solid design skills (of which i possess neither), Zannah still has the same basic layout as she did when i first saw her page nearly a year ago. Maybe there were some inbetween steps that i missed, but colour me impressed. With a shade less patience, but with tons of primary color design skillz, perennial favourite Wockerjabby just got a massive redesign that you should lay your eyes on. And, finally, i dragged my lazy self over to Ahx this morning after a nearly week-long lapse in my reading to find him doing some damned great writing (compliments of me nonwithstanding, of course). More people should be hearing what he has to say.

Well, there you go. That’s enough excuses not to read me for a couple of hours, right? Good. Off you go.
