New For Patrons: Definitive Guide to Animal Man

Launched just moments ago to my Crushing Comics Club Patrons is a guide to my favorite New 52 hero, Animal Man!

I feel like I’ve always been aware of Animal Man, but had never read a single issue of him prior to Jeff Lemire’s wonderful run in New 52. Putting this guide together was an eye-opening experience about Animal Man’s history, and about ultimately how much of a blank slate he became in the decade after the end of his famous Vertigo series launched by Grant Morrison. The guide includes his every appearance, with brief descriptions of his action to accompany nearly every issue.

New For Patrons: Index to Batman Ongoing Titles

New for my Patrons today is a handy page that’s half collecting guide and half index at the back of the Batman guidebook – the Index to Batman Ongoing Titles.

This reflects a direction I’m heading in with the X-Men guides as well in the near future – giving a single, alphabetical index to all possible titles for folks who aren’t sure exactly what they’re looking for. In addition to listing all of Batman’s ongoings, this page acts as the guide for the following four orphaned titles that don’t fit in anywhere else:

  • Batman Chronicles (1995)
  • Batman Confidential (2007 – 2011)
  • The Batman Family (1975- 1978)
  • Batman: Shadow of the Bat (1992 – 2000)

Want access to this guide? As a smaller guide, this one isn’t schedule for official release anytime soon. Patrons at the Crushing Comics Club level have access right now; Pledgeonauts will gain access in a few months. Full public release will come later – perhaps in November for the release of Justice League?

New For Patrons: Definitive Guide to Alpha Flight

I had a day to myself today, and it was partly to reward my Patrons with their Patrons’ Choice poll-winning guide for the month – a Definitive Guide to Alpha Fight, including every appearance from all of its core characters.

Not only does the guide cover how to collect every issue from all four incarnations of Alpha Flight (plus figuring out when to read those pesky annuals and mini-series), but it contains a complete reading order for Heather and James Hudson, Aurora, Puck, Sasquatch, Shaman, and Snowbird, plus orders for Diamond Lil, Madison Jeffries, Marrina, Northstar, and Wild Child during their tenures with the team.

Want access to this guide? Patrons’ Choice guides get picked from a pool of pages I’m not planning to work on for many months, so this one isn’t scheduled for released to the public anytime soon! But, you can be reading it tomorrow in exchange for covering $1.99 a month of CK’s hosting expenses.

While the little one naps (and I recover from a nasty bug seemingly felling everyone from our gym all at once) I launched a Complete Guide to The Flash (all four of them!) to CK’s Crushing Comics Club Patrons.

Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, Wally West, and the short-lived tenure of Bart Allen – it’s all covered from Flash Comics in 1940 through the present day! This guide should be available to the general public in May to coincide with the end of the third season of The Flash on CW.

Tonight I launched a complete collecting guide and trade reading order for all of Batman’s Robins to CK’s Crushing Comics Club Patrons.

Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, and Damian Wayne – they’re all in there, from Robin’s first appearance in Detective Comics #38 in 1940 to present!! This guide will be available to the public sometime in April.
