Today I’m excited to bring you a major facelift to a major page that I hope will represent a quality of life improvement for you and me both – the Crushing Comics – Guide to Collecting Marvel Comic Books.

I first launched this page twelve years ago on 1 August, 2010! Since then, it has expanded from being a simple index of X-Men team titles, to an index of every X-Men book, to an index of dozens of Marvel Guides, to now acting as a directory page linking to over 100 current or coming-soon guides to reading and collecting Marvel Comics. Guide to DC Comics Lucifer – now available to the public!

by

I’m happy to announce that my Guide to Lucifer at DC Comics is now available to all CK readers to celebrate for The Morningstar’s appearance in Netflix’s adaptation of The Sandman by Neil Gaiman thanks to the ongoing support of the Mighty Patrons of Crushing Krisis.

Guide to Lucifer

Many viewers have wondered if Tom Ellis’s seductive version of Lucifer would appear in Netflix’s The Sandman, and were surprised to learn that the character would instead be an androgynous golden-haired version played by Gwendoline Christie.

If you read Gaiman’s introduction of the character with Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg in The Sandman (1988) #4 you’ll see yet another depiction – The Morningstar is drawn as an overt homage to a pre-Ziggy Stardust David Bowie!

My guide lists all of Lucifer’s appearances throughout The Sandman as well as how to collect the subsequent 75-issue Lucifer series by Mike Carey, on which the CW show is very loosely based.

Plus, don’t miss on Dan Watters’ excellent 2018 revival of the title and character for DC’s relaunched Sandman Universe!

Krisis Returns to a Random Circuit 42! – Podcast Appearance

by

This week I made my return to Circuit 42 alongside co-hosts Ian and Sandra Soapbox for a completely random episode where we followed the conversation wherever it flowed.

We discussed the changing nature of Peter Parker’s geekdom through the ages, Drag Race local blackouts, macabre kid media, fan-casting Stranger Things women into their next roles, Mara Jade, Equus, the Aquaman 2006 CW pilot, fandom vs. standom, and much more!

Ian and the Circuit 42 crew are a consistently kind and thoughtful group, and they are such massive fans of so much cool geek stuff! It’s always a pleasure to drop in for another episode. Keep up with the gang on their Facebook page or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
