X-Men Omnibus Mapping, 2019 – Present | 14th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

March 3, 2026 by krisis Leave a Comment

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2026 - X-Men Omnibus Mapping - X-Men (2021) #12Once every year, thousands of Marvel collectors from around the world gather together online to watch Near Mint Condition and vote on their most-wanted omnibus titles. That time approaches – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 14th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every X-Men omnibus map for story material from 2019 to Present that has not yet been collected comprehensively in omnibus.

That means this post covers every missing Age of Krakoa omnibus and the first two years of X-Men: From the Ashes!

As one of the organizers of the poll, I work closely with Tigereyes and a team of Mapping Minties to be sure Marvel’s entire publishing history has been mapped, with every issue fitting somewhere into an omnibus volume to fill your oversize Marvel shelf. Then, we’ll kick off the poll on Near Mint Condition on March 22, 2026.

Marvel is releasing a lot of X-Men omnibus material in 2026, and it is heavily focused on Krakoa. Of 10 flagship X-Men titles, four of them are from Krakoa across two different collection lines. We have the two books from the Anthology line with X-Men: Age of Krakoa – Dawn of X Vol. 2 and X-Men: Age of Krakoa – Reign of X Omnibus Vol. 1. And, we have two books from the creator/title line with Way of X [AKA Nightcrawler by Simon Spurrier] and X-Men: Age of Krakoa by Kieron Gillen!

Will Marvel keep up this astonishing pace of four Krakoa omnis a year in 2027!?

Read this post and others in the series for a list of titles and omnibus mappings created by a group of the biggest collected edition enthusiasts on the internet. Every map is informed by Crushing Krisis comic guides and over a decade of polling data as explained by yours truly – keeper of the most-definitive guides to Marvel’s collected editions on the planet.

That includes my Guide to X-Men – The Age of Krakoa (2019 – 2024) and Guide to X-Men – From the Ashes (2024 – 2026)

Even if you don’t own a single omnibus, you can use this post to learn about Marvel’s history of material and find great comics to read physically or digitally!

X-Men Omnibus Mapping, 2001-2019 | 14th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

March 2, 2026 by krisis 2 Comments

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2026 - X-Men Omnibus Mapping - Uncanny X-Men (1963) #505Once every year, thousands of Marvel collectors from around the world gather together online to watch Near Mint Condition and vote on their most-wanted omnibus titles. That time approaches – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 14th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every X-Men omnibus map for story material from 2001 to 2019 that has not yet been collected comprehensively in omnibus.

To be very clear, this post only deals with books with “X-Men” in the title – and only through the period directly prior to Krakoa! Stories from Krakoa and onward will continue in a post tomorrow. Other X-Teams will be in one of my upcoming posts.

We have a wealth of flagship X-Men omnibuses in 2026, but only two books from this 18 year period of comics… and one of them is a wish that turned into a curled monkey’s paw! We’re getting Uncanny X-Men by Kieron Gillen (although it’s one volume without Generation Hope (2010) rather than two) and X-Men: The Messiah Trilogy (which is likely going to be double dipped by four different future omnibuses).

That means we still have a lot of ground to cover when it comes to getting X-Men flagships fully collected from the start of Grant Morrison’s New X-Men (2001) through the finale of X-Men (2018) prior to House of X / Powers of X (2019).

That includes some of the X-Men guides that were part of the original launch of Crushing Comics way back in 2010 – Guide to Uncanny X-Men (2001 – 2011), Guide to New X-Men & X-Men (2001 – 2008), Guide to Astonishing X-Men, Guide to X-Men Legacy, Guide to X-Men (2010 – 2019), Guide to New Mutants & Young X-Men.

Even if you don’t own a single omnibus, you can use this post to learn about Marvel’s history of material and find great comics to read physically or digitally!

Every Missing X-Men Omnibus from 2001 – Present, Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

April 21, 2025 by krisis

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2025 X-Men Krakoa Omnibus MappingIt’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every X-Men omnibus from 2001 to present that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

To be very clear, this post only deals with books with “X-Men” in the title! Other X-Teams will be in one of my upcoming posts.

For the next two weeks, I’ll be covering Marvel’s entire publishing history by mapping missing omnibus volumes to fill in every gap in your Marvel oversize shelf! That’s all leading to the kickoff of the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot on Near Mint Condition on April 28, 2025.

Just counting omnibuses with the actual word “X-Men” in the title, we’ve had a staggering ten announced for 2025 or early 2026. But, see if you can spot the pattern in these books: X-Men: Blue & Gold – Mutant Genesis, X-Men: Onslaught Aftermath, Cosmic X-Men, X-Men by Marc Guggenheim All-New X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis, Uncanny X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis, X-Men: Age of Krakoa – Dawn of X Vol. 1, X-Men by Al Ewing, X-Men by Gerry Duggan, X-Men: Fall of The House of X / Rise of The Powers of X.

Plus, a reprint of the House of X / Powers of X oversize hardcover – a rare occurence! And, without X-Men in the name but still collecting X-Men issues is Phoenix: The Death And Rebirth of Jean Grey.

All but two of those omnibuses focus on the period covered in this post! We suddenly have coverage for the orphaned Young X-Men (2008), a complete omnibus map of Brian Bendis’s X-Men, all of X-Men Gold (2017), half of the four major legs of Krakoan continuity from 2022-2023, and a Krakoa-era anthology line!!!

That’s a lot of X-Men books! But, weirdly, about half of them were not very hotly demanded – both on the poll and by fans in general.

I think that’s a good thing. It shows that Marvel is pacing themselves when it comes to X-Men books and that they know they still have some major, fan-pleasing runs to release in the coming years.

If you’re not sure of what to vote for, stick around for a list of books vetted by a gang of the biggest mapping nerds on the internet with explanations from yours truly – keeper of the most-definitive guides to Marvel’s collected editions on the planet.

Or, if you don’t care about omnibuses, just use this post to learn about Marvel’s history and find some great comics to read!

This post would not be possible without research, mapping, and writing from JM21, a major CK supporter and a massive, massive X-Men fan! I have been mapping and re-mapping these books on my own for more than a decade and JM21’s fresh perspective helped me finally and for the first time land on a map of 2010 to 2012 that makes complete sense!!! JM21 is also a supporter of the UK charity Men Walking & Talking, which helps to create safe space for men to discuss their mental health and wellness. If you love this post and have a bit of extra comics cash you can spare consider donating the Men Walking & Talking today!

New Comics & Collected Editions: Marvel Comics – January 24, 2024

January 23, 2024 by krisis

It’s the fourth new comic book day of the new year! This post covers Marvel Comics January 24 2024 releases. Missed last week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Marvel Comics January 17 2024 new releases.

This week in Marvel Comics: a ROMnibus appears, Straczynski & Gillen’s Thor runs finally reunited, Al Ewing up to something with Magneto, and more!

This list includes every comic and digital comic out from Marvel this week, plus collected editions in omnibus, hardcover, paperback, and digest-sized formats. For each new release, I’ll point you to the right guide within my Crushing Comics Guide to Marvel Comics to find out how to collect each character in full – and, if a guide is linked from this post, that means it is updated through the present day!

Marvel Comics January 24 2024 Collected EditionsROM: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Vol. 1, released by Marvel Comics January 24 2024

Marvel Two-in-One Epic Collection: Two Against Hydra
(2024 paperback, ISBN 978-1302931766 / digital)
See Guide to Fantastic Four or Guide to Thing (eventually). Marvel is slowly-but-surely pressing on with their collections of this Thing team-up title, which included a few more significant stories than its sibling Marvel Team-Up (1972). This volume (and all collections of this material, in general) skips issue #21, which includes a team-up with Doc Savage – Marvel no longer has the rights to reprint it.

ROM: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Vol. 1
(2024 oversize hardcover, ISBN 978-1302956714 / digital)
See Guide to ROM, Spaceknight. We never thought it could exist, but here it is – the ROMnibus! FYI, there are THREE DM variants of this omnibus cover – Frank Miller X-Men, George Pérez, and Sal Buscema. Marvel will cover this series in a trio of omnibuses, and there’s no guarantee they will print it in any other format (like Epic Collection), so this could be your one chance to finally own a reprinted, remastered collection of this material.

Siege
(2024 paperback, ISBN 978-1302952792 / digital)
See Guide to Marvel Universe Events. Marvel has been working through paperback reprints of most of their line-wide events in the past year, likely to serve as complements to the Epic and Modern Era Epic lines. This event isn’t particularly satisfying to read on its own – all three of the Avengers books at the time heavily filled out the action, in particular New Avengers.

Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Menace Revealed Vol. 4
(2024 paperback, ISBN 978-1302953911 / digital)
See Guide to Star Wars Legends – The Old Expanded Universe. This is not only the last Epic of this era (which stretches from pre-prequels through the prequel trilogy), but also potentially the second to last of the Legends Epics! There’s only one major uncollected series remaining – Star Wars: Invasion (2009) #0-16. After that, we’re just down to recollecting old Star Wars comics coverage omnibus format and Epic reprints.

Strange Academy: Year Two
(2024 paperback, ISBN 978-1302953003 / digital)
See Guide to Doctor Strange. This collects the back half of the original 2020 series and its “Finals” mini-series from 2022. Strange Academy had such a massive cast to start that sometimes it could be hard to zero in on the characters, their histories and powers, and how they related to each other. Here at the end the book is hyper-focused on one particular relationship and conflict, which escalates to a pretty epic level by the end. This is a rare in-continuity Marvel book that would work well for a YA crowd, though I’d perhaps call it for 10YO+ due to some themes related to drug use.

Thor by Straczynski & Gillen Omnibus
(2024 oversize hardcover, ISBN 978-1302953010 / digital)
See Guide to Thor, The Odinson. This is a relatively rare release from Marvel in that it specifically expands the content of a prior omnibus release! The Thor by JMS omnibus was a great read that kicked off the modern era of Thor, but it has always been an incomplete work since Gillen dropped in to finish off JMS’s abandoned plot threads before Matt Fraction took the reins. Now this volume completely plugs that gap, butting perfectly up against Thor by Matt Fraction and Loki by Gillen. Plus, it adds Gillen’s excellent Beta Ray Bill material. Strong recommendation from me on this one for Thor fans – it’s the ground level of his modern comics! [Read more…] about New Comics & Collected Editions: Marvel Comics – January 24, 2024

New Comics & Collected Editions: Marvel Comics – January 10, 2024

January 9, 2024 by krisis

It’s the second new comic book day of the new year! This post covers Marvel Comics January 10 2024 releases. Missed last week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Marvel’s January 3 2024 releases.

This week in Marvel Comics: Hickman & Checchetto launch Ultimate Spider-Man, Zdarsky & Checchetto’s Devil’s Reign omnibus, and the Rise of the Powers of X (not drawn by Marco Checchetto)!

Marvel Comics January 10 2024 Collected EditionsThe Avengers by Jed MacKay, Vol. 1: The Impossible City, released by Marvel Comics January 20 2024

The Avengers by Jed MacKay, Vol. 1: The Impossible City
(2024 paperback, ISBN 978-1302947699 / digital)
See Guide to Avengers Flagship Titles (2018-Present). This is the first collection of Jed MacKay’s Avengers relaunch. I’ve heard folks say this has been a bit slow-moving, but that’s often code for “I have no patience,” so I need to read this myself now that the entire first arc is complete!

Deadpool Epic Collection: Drowning Man (Epic Collection Vol. 3)
(2024 paperback, ISBN 978-1302953324 / digital)
See Guide to Deadpool. Continuing Deadpool’s status as Marvel most perfectly-collected character, they are now re-collecting his original 1997 series in Epic Collection after it has already been completely covered in Classic and Omnibus format.

Devil’s Reign Omnibus
(2024 oversize hardcover, ISBN 978-1302952921 / digital)
See Guide to Marvel Universe Events. A massive all-in-one collection of all of the tie-ins to the act break in Chip Zdarsky & Marco Checchetto’s Daredevil series. I don’t think any of these mini-series really add all that much to the main story in the event title, so if you’re not desperate to fill an oversize gap in your shelf you could simply pick up the trade paperback verison.

Doctor Strange Epic Collection: I, Dormammu (Epic Collection Vol. 2)
(2024 paperback, ISBN 978-1302953157, digital)
See Guide to Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange was the rare Epic line that didn’t kick off with sequential releases of its earliest volumes interspersed with later volumes, probably due to the fact that Marvel had released a (slim) early omnibus around the same time. Now we’re finally getting the second Epic collection filled in.

Marvel-Verse: Spider-Man & Madame Web
(2024 digest-size paperback, ISBN 978-1302954581 / digital)
Do I need a Madame Web guide now? Anyway, here’s some Amazing Spider-Man issues starring Madame Web, in case you wanted to compare Sony’s new movie to the comics.
