Haul Around The World: Prelude to FOMO Haul – EVERY New Epic & DC Finest, X-Men, Compendiums, & More

I hauled around the world and I, I, I, I… I am out of shelf space.

No, seriously, this is the haul where I have truly run out of any space on any shelf where I can possible fit the books. And, this is just one of TWO (or maybe THREE?) parts of the haul that resulted from my FOMO show a few weeks ago! This is mostly the things I decided to buy while MAKING the FOMO list. A few FOMO items are on here, but… a lot more is to come in the next Haul.

Join me as I dig into EVERY new classic Marvel Epic Collection, EVERY new DC Finest, tons of DC Compendiums, X-Men in omnibus, and some indie books that you may have never heard of before!

Seriously, this haul is absurd. I’m not sure what I was thinking. Honestly, even before the FOMO show, the FOMO had taken control of my brain like a rat sitting beneath a chef’s hat, except mine would be a Golden Lion Tamarin clinging to the back of my head (maybe that’s why the back of my hair never quite looks right – it’s the Tamarin!)

Last month I explained every one of Marvel’s 50 classic Epic Collection lines, including a visual guide to mapping every gap. Now I’m back with the second part of that exercising – explaining every one of their 27 Modern Epic lines to give them visual guide they’ve always deserved and explain where the heck they all start and stop where they do.

ALSO, I’ll do a lightning round reviewing all of the Classic Epic Lines to see which ones have had a new book announced for April to June of 2027 and what that means for their remaining gaps.

Marvel Epic Collection Update – Every Classic Line Explained, Every Gap Mapped!

Today I’m here with a show about one of my favorite collected edition formats in all of comics – Marvel’s paperback Epic Collections! Specifically their line of classic Marvel Epic Collections covering characters and titles that originally debuted prior to 1998.

My friends Omar of Near Mint Condition and Kurtis of the Epic Marvel Podcast recently teamed up to announce the Epic Collections slated for the first quarter of 2027. With a total of 50 classic Epic Collection lines ranging from Aliens to X-Men, it’s hard to keep track of what has been collected, what has been completed, and what gaps are left.

That’s what this show is all about. In 50 concise slides, I’m going to explain each line, the range of years and issues it covers, what has already been released, and what is left to collect.

Whether you’re an Epic Collection devotee like I am or simply curious about this line that has been going strong for 13 years and over 400 volumes, this is the only explainer you’ll ever need.

This week in Marvel Comics: Ultimate Mysterio’s mystery revealed, Doom’s Division hits Japan, Earth X recollected, our biggest Jeff collection yet, TVA concludes, NYX ends, Fantastic Four counts down, a Spider-Man Modern Era Epic, and more!

Marvel has 15 comics for sale this week (not counting FCBD and giveaways) and only 3 of them are ongoing titles. If that’s not a state of emergency indicating how much trouble Marvel’s line is in, I don’t know what is!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: An easy pick for me this week, since I loved the first issue of this series so much – Doom’s Division (2025) #2! I’m happy to say that issue #1 turned out to be a favorite of the week of mine last month not just because the competition was slim (and it was) but because I loved the easy way Yoon Ha Lee communicated so much information about a new set of characters and an unfamiliar culture. I’m looking forward to more.
