It’s time to map the DC Universe! In June, I’ll be joining with Near Mint Condition to launch the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 2nd Annual Poll! This post explains every Batman Family omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

Through the end of May I’ll be covering DC entire publishing history by mapping missing omnibus volumes to fill in every gap in your DC oversize shelf! That’s all leading to the kickoff of the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 2nd Annual Poll on Near Mint Condition the first week of June.

What is the Batman Family? For this purposes of this post, it’s non-villainous members of the extended Batman cast who have three or fewer potential omnibus volumes to their name. This post covers Azrael, Batman Beyond, Batwing, Batwoman, Huntress, Ghost-Maker, Gotham Academy, and more!

What about the more popular and enduring members of the family? I made posts earlier today about Nightwing, Red Hood, & Robin(s) and Gotham City Sirens – Catwoman, Poison Ivy, & Harley Quinn. I’ll be back tomorrow with Batgirl & The Birds of Prey. And, all of DC’s Villains will be collected in their own post next week.

It’s time to map the DC Universe! In June, I’ll be joining with Near Mint Condition to launch the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 2nd Annual Poll! This post explains every Robin, Red Hood, & Nightwing omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

When it comes to Batman’s sons, only one of them has had a good year in omnibus – Dick Grayson AKA Nightwing. Yet, even with a pair of Rebirth era omnis out for Dick this year, all of his pre-Flashpoint material remains uncollected in everyone’s favorite oversize format save for one Bronze Age volume as Robin.

Meanwhile, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne have no solo omnis to show for themselves, and Jason Todd as Red Hood has just one (which was reprinted this year, so maybe DC is teeing up for a second one)!

If you want to see Batman’s boys in oversize format, you need to vote for their books!

It’s time to map the DC Universe! In June, I’ll be joining with Near Mint Condition to launch the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 2nd Annual Poll! This post explains every Batman omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

Batman does as much collected editions business for DC as the collections of entire other publishers! We’ll have a total of five Batman solo omnibuses in 2025 – including just one Pre-Flashpoint, one New 52, and three from Rebirth to present.

While that sounds like a lot, there’s so much Batman not collected in omnibus, including a ton of hotly-demanded runs. Fans desperately want DC to crack into the 70s and 80s of Batman, and while the DC Finest collections may have slightly cooled the desires for an immediately Post-Crisis collection, there are still some obvious gaps in the late-90s.

I sincerely believe DC will be taking a close look at the votes on this poll to decide on their upcoming slate of Batman omnis, especially for Pre-Flashpoint material. New Comics & Collected Editions Releases: DC Comics – May 7 2025

This week in DC Comics: Things get explosive for Birds of Prey, Absolute Braniac, New 52 omnis for Suicide Squad & Nightwing, Atom Project & Black Canary deliver their finales, Zdarsky’s final Batman collection, compact Kingdom Come, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: Despite my heart beating faster just from thinking of reading Absolute Superman (2024) #7, this week I have to go with Birds of Prey (2023) #21 from Kelly Thompson, Sami Basri, Adriano Lucas, and Clayton Cowles! The script for issue #20 was nearly as good as the instant-classic script for #1, and the cliffhanger has had me wanting a follow-up all month long!

This post includes every comic out from DC Comics May 7 2025, plus collected editions in omnibus, hardcover, paperback, and digest-sized formats.

A word of warning – despite overall loving DC’s output right now, this is probably my least-favorite release week slate from DC in each month. Buckle up for some ruthless reviews.

This isn’t the typical comic releases post you can find on other sites. Why? I explain each collection and review every in-continuity series with a new issue out this week. The Krisis Pick of the Week: Of course my pick is Absolute Martian Manhunter (2025) #2! Issue one was so damn good I wrote a whole song about it that I haven’t stopped singing for an entire month! But, there are a lot of great issues out from DC this week that I can’t wait to read. They’re crushing it right now.
